Embarrassing. If you're as tough as you say you are you would fight through that.

If the injury is a legit orbital bone fracture I give him a pass on quitting in the corner but will give credit to Canelo for making that happen. That was a planned vicious uppercut that caught BJS dry on the face.

Most other fighters atleast went on another round but BJS didnt have the heart when he saw how pumped up Canelo was and quit on his stool.
Canelo definitely knew. I just watched a replay of the last round. Everything after that punch landing was just Canelo celebrating a now certain victory.

another thing I noticed was Reynoso sending Canelo out for the eighth with instructions to get back to throwing more uppercuts.

What? You basically rephrased what i said?

Anyway if he was ahead on cards and it happened in r11 he couldve tried to see last rd through but no way are you getting through 4 more rounds.

Meant to quote the post above yours (the guy calling it a false claim to "save face" ). Site was all buggy and overloaded at the same time.

I find it funny knowing what Saunders had to say about Dubois but I don't blame him or his team for stopping a fight with that injury.

Ive seen quitters, real quitters and they are on to a serious loser from the start and take a beating and their heart just goes. That was not happening to Saunders, he was very competitive, I'm sure him and his team would of felt they must be holding their own on the cards and then ****, he took that shot and broke his face and it soon ended after that.

Some fighters choose to carry on with a similar injury and I applaud their bravery but the danger to eye sight can vary depending on exactly where the fracture has happened and it can end a career. I don't blame anybody for choosing to preserve themselves to fight another day.

Until the medical report is released, then we won't know one way or another if he sustained an orbital bone injury or not. I believe it's all spin though; In order for Billy Joe to save face. The man had reached his limit in the fight. He was losing steam, getting tired and didn't have enough speed or power to fight Canelo off of him. He knew the KO was inevitable so he decided to pack it in by retiring on his stool.
