I really want to know what people see in charlo to make them think he does anything vs canelo dude is basic up and down no special effects.

Charlo has a good jab, good power, and does good body work. That would be a way better scrap than this was.

I doubt Charlo takes the fight he calls out everyone and then they say ok and he ducks, different excuse each time. What if Canelo has not had his COVID jab yet, has Canelo done enough to deserve a Charlo shot does the day have a Y in it ......the guys an average fighter who has made ducking into an art form.

Dang if Canelo's game isn't complete. I still think to beat him one needs a granite chin, a come-forward style, and some serious power a la GGG (I know GGG didn't beat him, but he gave him two very close fights). GGG is probably over the hill now, so is there anyone out there that fits that mold and can bully the bulldog that is Canelo Alvarez???

Eubank has the tools and the chin. I think pressure fighting and a good jab is the answer.

You say this as if Canelo systematically broke him down instead of just finally landing a damning blow in a compromising place

I think the scorecards were a fair reflection of the fight. I think Saunders had only a 'Plan A' which wasn't quite delivering effective punching, while Alvarez was landing heavy and accurate shots which prevented Saunders from ever employing anything but his Plan A and stepping anything up.
Alvarez' shots were all adding up from Round 1, while Saunders only hope was for Alvarez to get frustrated and start burning too much energy, which we know wasn't going to happen, he's not that guy.
In my eyes a stoppage was in the pipeline for Saunders anyway. He had nowhere else to go.
I'm not convinced Saunders had a next gear to go to, Alvarez on the other hand...
That's just my take, and my take just paid my bills for this month, so this time at least, I think my take was reasonable.

Great fight by Canelo. I lost fifty bucks to my brother I had Canelo winning a decision but he proved once again that he is the current best in the game. I loved his ability to work the body throughout and he set that uppercut up beautifully all night.

Props to Billy Joe he put up a great effort until that last shot- I really felt the momentum swinging for him in some of those middle rounds.

All around great entertaining fight and I can’t wait for Canelo to run through Plant in September.

Yeah I was on the fence betting the over or by tko so didn't.

Saunders did really good but his body had to be hurting because he kept going lower and lower to defend himself and Canelo saw it and caught him going down with the uppercut.

Lies, lies and lies. Saunders did not win a round. He was never competitive. He lost that fight before the bell wrong. His body language was that of a scared fighter. Saunders quit because he knew he would have been koed. Canelo was breaking him down, sensing the end was near, started walking him down and beating him from pillar to post. Saunders is garbage, just all mouth and no teeth.

Oh man come on! Saunders might not have been winning at the time of the stoppage, but he won AT LEAST 2 to 3 rds. You could even make the argument he won the opening rd based on activity alone.

IMO, this was one of Canelos worst performances. Kudos to Canelo for staying composed though. The power was the difference for sure, but Saunders showed up and boxed well.

Nah man it’s elite. To keep an extremely fast mover boxer in front of you by cutting off a ring that is 22 feet is elite. Nothing more needs said.

I agree; Well said! Canelo made BJS look real slow in there tonight. Saunders was nowhere near as fast as Mayweather or Lara.

It was warming into a good fight, that 8th round was big from Canelo though. BJS was looking decent when he warmed to the task, I had it around 5-3 Canelo.

I'm not going to knock BJS, not until it's public about his eye. My stance on the stigma of quitting hasn't changed down the years.

Hopefully he comes back sooner rather than later as he can be involved in some good fights at the top end of the division. As for Canelo, I guess it's Plant next for undisputed. It's another good showing from Canelo, to face and dispatch of Smith and BJS within the space of 5 months is impressive.
