I really thought he should have fought Berto in a fight he would have easily won, or Clottey in a fight that he would have probably won by SD since Ghanaian fighters are never awarded close decisions. Even if Margarito had fought Williams (he would have lost), but it would have been a close UD loss, and not a one way ass whupping annihilation.
The mistake was he got caught. Just watch what happens when he returns. Suddenly his punching power will have mysteriously disappeared.

I was happy to see the good things that came to him at the time. I thought he was a hard-working fighter and he seemed like a good guy, so it was great to see him do well. Loading your gloves is just a horrible, horrible thing to do though. I could never support him in another fight and to be honest, I'm not sure how anyone else could either.
I see what you are saying, but lets please stay on subject.

          That is the question.

          Not,

"Do you approve of Margaritos wraps in the Mosley fight?"

If you'd like to start that thread, feel free to do it and you'll see many of the same people giving him props for taking on the best as champion, give him the proper stick he deserves for the hand wraps.

          So in this particular discussion,

you have no point because even now, two posts in,

you still haven't answered the question.
Sorry but just to clarify it I was more responding to the posters who were lauding Margarito for his willingness to fight Mosley.

In responding to the thread question, clearly taking on Mosley was the right thing to do considering Margarito was the champ and Mosley a top contender. I'm not sure if it was the best fight stylistically for Margarito, but I guess he figured he'd have his loaded gloves there to help him.

Obviously he did. Of course it wasn't seen that way goin in. SSM was an underdog, but it ain't like he was str8 up supposed to lose. He was a contender and a name Marg had been after for yrs, so he went for it. I thought he'd KO SSM in the late rds. Marg wanted to get the payday wit SSM, then rematch Cotto, then hopefully, rematch Pwill by this yrs end. SSM **** on that tho.

I hoped shane had enough left in the tank to take out this chump and in the end he had more then enough for Marga****o!!!

Funny thing is 85 to 90% of people thought SSM was being thrown to the wolves and that he was too old!!!

Now everyone wants to praise Marga****o for taking this fight lol!!!

Considering how he lost, of course it was a mistake. But the bigger mistake was putting the suspect wraps on his hands.

Yes, the mistake was putting him in a ring anywhere near Shane Mosley...

Yeah because he probably wouldn't have got caught and he would of not been knocked out also he would have won twice the amount of money.
