Every one seems to be ignoring the REAL factor here and that's the arbitration between Wilder/Fury. Fury can't do anything unless Wilder gives him permission. And how convenient of Hearn to make yet another announcement on the week we are expected to get the arbitration results. Trilogy coming up.

You should say that to the ones who are stalling and delaying this fight not me. I want to see an undisputed fight but judging by their body languages obviously, Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum does not. You do know that Tyson Fury wants to fight twice this year already right? So it's time for them to get the ball rolling and make this fight happen as soon as possible.
Sounds to me that you wish it to not be true and you wish it not to happen. I think you hate the fact the PBC or Wilder are not involved in this biggest fight in the sport and so all you want to do is be salty and negative about it.Comment

Put gloves on the lawyers. Make it a tournament. Sell tickets. That would be better than this BS.Comment

I hate Arum as much as most red blooded boxing fans! But I have to ask: Why would greedy Bob be motivated that this fight NOT happen? What does that do for him, for Fury? If Arum is concerned about the arbitration, perhaps he cannot disclose this concern... But we would have to then assume that arbitration proceedings are a mystery with no clue as to the relative merits each party (Wilder/ Fury) has in the proceedings. Arum must have some understanding about the possibilities of a ruling, and if they looked awful, why would he proceed? perhaps With the "out" if hearn's came through, he could then close the fight down? ...Maybe.
Arum might be motivated to be the "bad cop" to hearn's "good cop" as hearns hinted at that possibility when he said "Bob is just applying pressure."
Arum does screw fights up for his own purposes. No doubt. But in this scenario its hard to see him benefitting from preventing this fight. If these guys do decide to take a tune up before this fight it is risky... Wilder has the potential to end a fight with one punch, and AJ is not bulletproof. Either loss would take a lot of money off the table for greedy bob.
It would be nice to know more about arbitration and how it could affect the outcome of this fight... But there is no compelling reason to think Arum, who knows the most about the proceedings in fury's camp, knows something that is terminal to having this fight proceed.
Some have said Fury would prefer a tune up and will sabatoge this fight. Really? With a rematch clause, and that much money on the table? Would you do that if you were fury?Comment

Uh yes he can. If the arbitrator rules that Fury has to fight Wilder then that's what must happen. Fury is pouring tons of cash on this arbitration trying to weasel out a third fight. Arum flew to the mediation to try to work something out. If Arum was that confident about the arbitration being nothing, then why is he trying to work something out? Hearn never had any deals and the arbitration is real. Eddie and Arum are con artists and they fooled everyone but Wilder fans.Comment

Also reviewing how much of a chunk of the profits they might have to fork over to Wilder after the arbitration?Comment

A few things we know:
1.We are in the middle of a pandemic.
2. It's hard to organise big fights because of no (or significantly smaller) crowds from 1 above
3. Fury is agitating to fight sooner rather than later
Let's say the best case scenario for Wilder comes up. The arbitrator says: Fury has to give Wilder a rematch. Given the points listed above, you'd have to assume Fury would want to fight ASAP and there would not be a lot if money in it for Wilder. So he would get offered a fight that is almost straightaway and for peanuts. Would Wilder accept that? Far more likely in this ideal scenario for Wilder is he gets thrown a couple of million bucks to go away. And then, of course, there is the very possibility that the arbitrator says, sorry, you didn't take the fight in the time period specified by the contract.Comment
