Meh, Joshua has never been a terrible boxer and Ruiz was hopelessly out of shape. He wouldn't have faired all that much in a smaller ring either TBH.

Fixed fights, ring size most important non fighter factor in boxing

Ring was within the legal limit in Joshua v Ruiz 2. Can't blame anybody but Ruiz and his team for Ruiz turning up in terrible shape
And ring size isn't going to matter in a fixed fight. A fixed fight means both men in the ring know who is going to win and lose.

That fight was supposedly fought in a 22 foot ring. I don't know what the dimensions were for the first one at Madison Square Garden but it was probably not more than 20 feet. An 18 foot ring is 324 square feet vs. 484 square feet for a 22 foot ring. That is 50% more leg room. Was the real reason AJ lost weight before the rematch because he knew "fast Eddie" would negotiate a larger ring and he needed to train for a marathon and not a 100 yard dash? Did the Ruiz camp know that it was 22 feet and when did they know? Did it allow them enough time to train for those conditions?

Do you have anyone involved in the Joshua-Ruiz 2 fight saying the ring was 22 feet? You'd think there'd be someone mentioning it if it is was.
Looks to me someone misreported and people jumped on it. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
ABC? HUH? Do they have jurisdiction outside the US? I don't think so!

Yea, ABC don't mean crap outside the US. It is not an international regulator which is why boxing is so biased towards some fighters who have clout to negotiate these terms.

The ring size had nothing to do with the outcome of the fight. The something that had to do with the fight was what was between Ruiz's ears. Or rather the lack of it. Self discipline He did not dedicate himself to defending his newly crowned title.

Does the ring look 50% like the thread starter claimed?
