  • Comments Thread For: Ruiz Weighs In At 256 Pounds, Arreola A Career-Low 228 1/2 For Fight Saturday Night

Andy Ruiz Jr. provided proof Friday of all the hard work he has put in to prepare for his fight against Chris Arreola. The former heavyweight champion came in at 256 pounds, 27 1/2 pounds less than he weighed the day before his loss to Anthony Joshua in their 12-round rematch 16 months ago in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Ruiz weighed 283 1/2 pounds for his rematch with Joshua, 15 1/2 more than Ruiz officially weighed for his historic upset of the previously unbeaten British superstar in June 2019 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Chris is clearly taking this fight very seriously, I may have to tune in to this card.

Wow. That’s pretty impressive. Glad they seem to have taken it seriously. Hopefully it will be a decent fight. I figure Andy will take it.

Arreola waited until he's shot and finished to lose weight.

Shocked that Arreola is so light, not sure what to make of that honestly, don't know if he'll have the same power now. Ruiz coming in at basically the same weight as he did when he fought Parker for the title

Id like you see Snickers down to 235-245 to be honest, and he could do it. He will never be body beautiful but he can lose 10-20 more lbs with the correct diet and a proper NSCA strength and conditioning coach

It means it's going to be a barn burner!

Arreola's out to break his own punches thrown and landed record in this fight

And the time off did him well. This is Arreola's first and only PPV headliner and its against a fellow Mexican (which is personal) I expect nothing else but an all out war.

Arreola looks skinny fat. No muscle at all. He's getting stopped in round 1.
