I agree, but Clay was a mma fighter first. Started competing pro in 2011 mma, competed pro in boxing in 2017. Wouldn't call him a boxer, know what I mean?

Only saw highlights but was an interesting fight. Could see Clay's boxing skills working well for him, although he moved his head into the path of a kick and then a knee so maybe needs less head movement or modify it

It’s not a sport they always talk about real fighting it’s two bums scrapping in a cage

How come Clay was knocking dudes out early in boxing gloves but couldnt stop a washed up MMA guy who is 6-9 since 2015 while wearing 4oz gloves?

OP is an idiot. First, there are various MMA organizations. PFL is not UFC. Even if it were a scrub league or past it fighters from bigger MMA organizations, its matchmaking wouldn’t be the machine the UFC is which is more commercial oriented.

also, guys like Lipinets and Algieri were somewhat “MMA” before pro boxing and they became World Champions.

surely we are more biased to boxing and it is a more difficult sport when specifically weighing striking and endurance to go 12, but to MMA fighters’ credits, bear hugging strength from wrestling or BJJ takes a lot of energy from you, so it’s calibrated differently than boxing. Credit to MMA fighters too since they sacrifice less padding with gloves, but no need to make fun of that sport. I’ve done BJJ myself and you’d be surprised how Russian world fighters get down.... though many of them on the juice like star boxers from the 80’s...
