I, like most boxing fans, saw him on the Loma-Lopez undercard. It was fun, and he was a great interview after. He has faced no one, but so what? If by age 25 he is still facing no name club fighters I will not even waste time clicking on articles with him in it. For this fight on an ESPN undercard of a mid-level boxing event at age 23 with less than 20 fights in his career? Bring on the lambs, let's keep that streak alive for another fight.

Stop it get some help. Desmond Nicholson is a D level fighter who got KTFO by some ice cream man who's record is 5 5 2 and lost a decision to Steve fckin Rolls.

He was hurt laying on ropes and dropped as an amateur, yes, he was 17-18, but his brain will remember this forever, next time smn lands clean on that chin his brain, to protect itself, will send a signal to his knees - "cant hold"

Lmao I mean fu#k why not?

Get some people to take some dives. It would still be fake, but if it’s good for the sport, why not???

But I really do hope he keeps the streak going. It’s essentially like watching a pitcher on his way to a perfect game. That’s what it’s like. Almost like how Mayweather’s undefeated.

Berlanga sparks bums = you say, "meh, give him a chance..."

Jake Paul sparks bums = "he should step up"

I'm just saying, let's be consistent.

Maybe Berlanga gets rightfully criticized because he's overhyped by NSB for sparking bums.

I never mentioned Jake Paul. I did not say “he should step up”. Those are your words.

Do you recall any of the first 16 boxers Oscar or Floyd or Crawford etc fought? They were all sparked out, so to speak. Can you name any of the first 16 guys that Ryan Garcia beat? You cannot.
Berlanga is no different from any of those guys even if he is not elite. This is how boxing works.
As for your Jake Paul comparison, all I can say is strawman arguments. Paul is a YouTube celebrity cashing in on boxing aka a nobody.

There you go, disrespecting a guy who is doing the same thing as Bumlanga.

                  Inconsistent. Hypocrisy.

As far as your first question, the flaw in your argument is that nobody was calling Oscar or Floyd "next P4P" for their early wins. In fact I clearly recall Larry Merchant saying Floyd needed to step up, halfway into his career.

The problem is, nowadays NSB puts guys on pedestals too damn early.

Look at Felix Verdejo, the guy everyone called "Boxing's Next Cotto" and "Boxing's Next Trinidad". Knocked out by a nobody, then flailing back against the ropes off a jab and then knocked out.

Look, if you feel like you want to keep on overhyping these fighters, you go right on ahead.

My point is, if you're going to hype them based on the so-called 'eye test' , then you need to give Jake Paul the same credit because he passed it too.

Also its suspenseful watching heavy handed but limited fighters because something could go wrong but you know the ko shot is coming.

Its basically Wilder's whole career and appeal.

I am not hyping it over-hyping Berlanga. You are straight up calling him a bum.
As for Jake Paul, he’s had 3 fights and none of those guys are actual boxers. There is nothing to hype or downplay about him.
