Do you really think he’s going to knock you across the room with his one inch punch? Like that has anything to do with anything in a real fight. What was his philosophy that gave rise to modern mma? “Be Like Water?” Sure that sounds deep, great tag line, but what the hell does that even mean? Just flow? Hands down and just dodge every attack? What boxer or mma fighter represents “Be like Water” the most right now then? Did he even have any teachings that had to do with taking a fight to the ground? That’s part of modern mma right? He’s a likeable guy, smart too I’m sure. He has more experience looking cool in aviators than real fights.
"Be like Water" is really the condensed slogan version of Jeet Kune Do which was the philosophy he developed. He did incorporate some forms of grappling into his films.

His ideas which seem common now were unique at the time, to not just focus on one style of combat but familiarize yourself with multiple, something that is a main facet of MMA.

Either way OPs post is dumb, as others have mentioned there was no MMA back in the 60s and 70s and Bruce wasn't a trained boxer. So what the hell does he have to do with Jake Paul and his "pro-record"?

Want to say Jake could beat him in a fight? Sure he only outweighs Bruce by 50 lbs and like I mentioned Muffin Top Ben Askren would have kicked Paul's ass if they weren't limited to boxing rules.

He definitely played a part in the philosophy that ultimately lead to MMA, and he was the inspiration for countless people taking up martial arts. BUT, he was also kinda lucky (well...being dead is not that lucky but still) that he missed MMA by a few decades. Imagine the pressure that would have been on him to prove himself by entering one of those early UFC tournaments. There would be no legend status for him after some random **** like Harold Howard publicly caved his head in.

The first fight in Enter the Dragon he wins by submitting his opponent. In Return of the Dragon he breaks Chuck's neck with a guillotine. He trained with Gene Lebell before cross-training was a thing. His whole philosophy was not to be limited by one style. He's considered the "godfather of MMA" in the mma community. You clearly know nothing about him.

Bruce gets a lot of credit for a bunch of **** actually inspired by Frank Dux's story telling.

The western style of boxing has more influence on mixed martial arts than Jeet Kune Do. Jeet Kune Do you put your more powerful hand forward. The theory is you can land a short fast knockout blow with your dominant hand while it’s already in front of you. Too bad this isn’t how physics works. This type of punch is a jab. Jabs have been proven to be the least powerful of the punches. No need to explain the dynamics of this. You’d have to believe the “one” inch punch horse**** to justify this. Yeah on rare occasions some boxers ( Oscar was one ) put their dominant hand forward as their jab hand. He had a good jab and hook for sure, but this is not the norm. Yes there are similarities in boxing and Jeet Kune, maybe more than Jeet Kune Do has with kung fu, wing chun, tai chi, karate in a way. Stance, movement, slipping. But boxing was already a huge sport for over a hundred years when Bruce came along. No reason to believe he wasent influenced by it either. Ali was a superstar at the time. You know Bruce saw that. Almost all mixed martial artist fight out of a boxing stance. There’s variations of course. But it’s jabs, hooks, straights, uppercuts for the most part as far as punches go. In the clinch it’s dirty boxing.
