This is true, but at the same time it doesnt change the fact that Jake would have probably beat his ass.Comment

Any doorman at a tough club has more legit fights than Bruce Lee. Anyone who thinks 150lb Bruce Lee is so fast and powerful that he knocks out legit heavies with one punch has to imagine him playing tailback in the NFL.Comment

You forgot that first guy in Jake Paul's exhibition, that youtubers brother, this ***ing midget who bloodied Jakes nose with a jab he landed at will. lmao. idk what he weight but he was small as ***, looked 170 or lowerComment

There is one video of him sparring in gear with another guy. Its all over youtube so shows you dont know what you are talking about. He looks surprisingly modern and he had ideas way ahead of their time back in the 70s. He fights from a fencing stance and looks pretty similiar to mcgreggor which is amazing that it is 50 years ago.
There wasnt much of anything back then for combat sports. Karate tournaments in the west were garbage. You go see chuck norris's karate tournament matches and they are lame as ***, they reset constantly and after one blow lands the ref breaks them and they reset again. It is not a constant full contact fight.
Bruce lee in his sparring looked good, assuming he had a chin, he could have done well in a different era, he was fast and had a lot of ideas for what it meant to control space and counter. Of course he had no experience, if he fought a muay thai fighter of that era they would just pressure him and he wouldnt have had the experience to deal with that pressure. There was no MMA back then or any way for him to really fight unless he wanted to convert to western boxing in his 20s.

He did inspire millions. But he did it by looking cool in fake fights in the movies. He made partial arts trendy and all the posers showed up. It was straight up style over substance. You ever seen Bruce Lee in a real fight? What part of posing and making ridiculous sounds after your punches has anything to do with mma? Do you really think he’s going to knock you across the room with his one inch punch? Like that has anything to do with anything in a real fight. What was his philosophy that gave rise to modern mma? “Be Like Water?” Sure that sounds deep, great tag line, but what the hell does that even mean? Just flow? Hands down and just dodge every attack? What boxer or mma fighter represents “Be like Water” the most right now then? Did he even have any teachings that had to do with taking a fight to the ground? That’s part of modern mma right? He’s a likeable guy, smart too I’m sure. He has more experience looking cool in aviators than real fights.Comment
