The only bright side of this debacle is this probably kills any future Triller events after all the goodwill they received for the Tyson vs Jones PPV.

Was the old ref just lazy and looking for a quick night? Did someone incentivize him to look for any and all opportunities to help Jake? These are legitimate questions.
Im not claimong Askren would've won, but the stoppage was a joke

I mean, despite any wishful thinking to the contrary this was the reasonably expected outcome for anyone filled in on Paul and Askren's respective strengths/weaknesses/status/history. In Paul, a guy with the luxury of the time and money to dedicate more or less exclusively to just training the last few years, making a ****** late entrance into the fold and who would surely be ethered by any top 20 pro in his weight vicinity...but also possessing a natural athleticism and level of dedication that in a vacuum appears admirable.
And then, Askren...a guy several years into retirement, who by his own admission has been inactive in that interim outside of some wrestling in a coaching context, coming off a very recent hip replacement surgery and known for having one of the weakest strike games in mma history to boot...I.e. a guy who couldn't have the deck stacked any higher against him in matchup that makes the average single digit green prospect opponent seem completely legit by comparison. Who else would be ready to KO Askren? Anyone on this forum of comparable age and size with the smallest physical potential and luxury of the same cirumstances.
But the number of 14 yr olds in the wild who think something really just happened is worth a good laugh it will be fun to see how far the charade stretches out.

Jake Paul is in a corner now. He has to fight an actual boxer next surely.

Surely he’s done enough for GOAT status now, let’s not wait around proclaiming him the greatest boxer that ever lived, it’s not how we do things these days, let’s just say it and he can retire undefeated. What power, amazing, no boxer in history had a one sided record of 4-0 like this man, what an athlete what a technician, OMG, soo good. Canelo next please
