Yo! Just saw the footage. The UK has some f’d up, questionable stoppages. Alot!!! But this wasnt one. Vargas was gettin tagged. That uppercut and then the 4 punch combo right after was def enough to stop it. I do understand the protest from fans though. UK be on that bull jive sometimes. But this WAS a good stoppage, imho. Just my 2 cents. -
Johnny Nelson the king of "Immediate Overreaction"
Props to Benn for taking care of business, yes the stoppage was kind of fast but he was getting blast with repeated clean shots I don't know WTF Vargas gameplan was. That being said clearly Eddie is building Benn up by "He Beat This Guy Faster Than The Other Guy" but make not mistake Johnny F^cking Nelson and the Bias Fanboys who think like him, Benn is still working his way up he is not ready for any of the Top Level guys in that Loaded Divisions. If they feel he is ready then please make those fights, send out some offers. Custio Clayton is available and a Free Agent make that fight next if you really want to test him. Ray Robinson, David Avanesyan all would test Benn properly
I like Benn though, continues to improve with every fight but of course he is going to have those fans who go too far and start to overrated himLeave a comment:

Jeez, people are calling that an early stoppage?! No, it was absolutely a correct stoppage, he had Vargas pinned on the ropes, not fighting back, playing tennis with his head.
We'd see a lot more serious injuries/deaths if some of these idiots were taken seriouslyLeave a comment:

Anyone calling that a bad stoppage is an invalid. Benn was only going to continue unloading, Vargas' head was going to be bouncing off the canvas brutally. Twice there Vargas would have went down but the second rope caught him. What do you think was going to happen? Benn was stood flat-footed, about to unload the kitchen sink on a man who was badly hurt, repeatedly, and his hands were dropping. Honestly sickening how some of you muppets refuse to give credit to upcoming fighters.Leave a comment:

Vargas wasn't doing nothing doe. He wasn't throwing back & he wasn't evading/being defensively sound very well either. And Benn wasn't stopping & was coming hard n fast. This was definitely not a "UK stoppage" as it's sometimes called imo. You gotta show SOMETHING or don't be surprised when the fight gets stopped. I suspect most US refs not named Steve Smoger would have stopped this fight too.
I did not watch the fight, but I can imagine what type of stoppage this was.
Did Vargas have his guard up? Was he on his feet? If the answer is yes to both of these questions.
You do not stop the fight, especially not in the first round.
I knew straight away, that Benn would got this type of stoppage win.
He is not sparking guys out, clean on the floor etc
But nevertheless, that is a good win for him.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 04-10-2021, 04:50 PM.Leave a comment:

Vargas got hit with about 15 clean punches out of 20.
I thought the ref jumped in too early but slow it down and he was getting hit clean. Good stoppage. Vargas wasn't defending himself properly.Leave a comment:

When its a Brit on the receiving end the opponent has to damn near kill them before the ref does their job. If its the other way around 9/10 times the referee jumps in at the first sign of adversity even when the opponents defending themselves.
There needs to be an inbetween and that is where it should be. Give the fighters a chance.
Vargas gets rocked every fight, he is a total punchbag but he recovers as well as anybody. He has incredibly recuperative abilities.Leave a comment:
