The Real Reson Fans Hate Bud vs. Manny

There are more business fans in the sport today than boxing fans. Everyone talks about how the fact that Canelo LOST to Floyd means he gets to pick who he wants to fight, bully people in negotiations, weight drain people, avoid the best comp like Andrade and Charlo, get the A side, and so on and so one. People talk about how Spence is this financial king now because he took a complete joke of a fight with Mikey Garcia, a fight that got a ton of foolish DICAF fans to attend and watch thinking Mikey has a chance. And now he's the boss because he won this ****** fight.

Well, Bud just one upped y'all big time. I hate this fight. I like Terence Crawford because he was out building a legacy, fighting the best available comp in his weight classes and not going after bull**** smoke and mirrors fights for massive paydays, even if it means the idiot casual fans will call people like Postol or Horn bums. This is a fake fight, a smoke and mirrors fight, a fight that will be one of the easiest of Bud's career, but will trick the casual fans into thinking he's a legend now.

But now when he beats Manny Pacquiao, who is a shell of his former self and got his ass beat by Jeff Horn, Bud will be able to say that he dethroned a legend, just headlined a ppv that did half a million or a million buys, and gets to call all the shots now. And espn will fawn all over it. It's ****** as hell. But that's what y'all wanted and y'all got it.

This is what happens when the fans care more about business than boxing. It is killing our great sport.

I can see it now. When Bud beats Pacquiao, he will become the diva that y'all wanted him to be. Just like the other divas everyone glorifies in this sport. It's a sad day for the sport, but this is what you have to do to get fights now I guess.

Hmm never thought of it like that but it makes sense. If Crawford brutally KO'd Pac and sent him into retirement, it would definitely make him into so many of the other shot callers in boxing that are annoying.

edit: I would say the reason I "hate" this fight is because this would easily be the most noteworthy accomplishment on Bud's resume. How he 33, p4p rated, and his best win is a 42 year old coming off a 2 year lay off?

Here is the flaw with your statement, boxing has ALWAYS been about business. The A side has ALWAYS called all the shots from SRL to DLH to Floyd to Pac to Canelo etc.

I'm sure there are fans that just don't want to see Pacquiao go out on his back or getting destroyed, but I respect this move so much if this is how he chooses to go out. And who knows, maybe he has ONE more performance in him where he competes and gives himself a chance to win. It is unlikely, but Pacquiao is a f'n legend and I love it.

This fight also is great for building up the Spence showdown for later this year, should both win. I personally love this fight and I'm happy Crawford is getting his shot at a big name....If the fight does indeed happen. If not, I still would love him to fight Porter.

I like Saul Alvarez because he is out building a legacy, fighting the best available comp in his weight classes like the actual title holders in Plant and BJS, fighters whom are perceived better than Indongo and Postol combined. I still think at this stage Horn, Benevidez, Mean Machine are better wins than Pacquiao, but people won't really give him credit for that. Pac is a smoke and mirrors fight.

Canelo picked Yildirim in order to avoid the best comp. Bud fought Brook since he was the only fighter available.
