Youtubers Vs TikTokers, More Celebrity Boxing LOL

The whole thing is so weird. I try to imagine it from the POV of whoever is paying for this stuff, if a celebrity I liked was doing a sport I didn't care about, would I get into it? Don't think so, if AJ and Fury decided to play a game of snooker or golf vs each other I wouldn't watch.
Not to judge a book by its cover but a lot of them look like they are still at school and get bullied. Don't think I've ever seen anybody wearing glasses on a boxing poster beforeComment

I'm so proud I don't recognize a single soul there. Let's me know I'm living a righteous life lol.Comment

I haven't really spoken out on this, but I don't have a problem with it. The way I see it is it's just prize fighting by social media celebrities. It's another spectacle, somewhat like Butterbean who was not an elite boxer by any means, but he entertained.
I don't know any of these people, but given how much their fans already pay for their content (patron, only fans, merchandise, etc.) It's not surprising they'll fork out more dollars to see them trade punches.Comment

Its definitely worked for the Paul brothers. That said I do think Logan Paul specifically is a intelligent mfer who can make money off of anything. Boxing just currently provides bigger money for less time + I think the Paul brothers actually like competition/fighting. Idk about the rest of these dudes. It feels sorta copycat-ish, although I got no doubt some probably are serious to whatever degree they can strive towards something with as dire consequences as boxing has.I haven't really spoken out on this, but I don't have a problem with it. That dude wearing glasses is just hilarious. Why didn't anyone tell him to take those shlts off. It'd be cool if he wears em during the fightComment

Oh OK damn!
Nah man the main event guys, Hall vs McBroom, are splitting $5M. Idk what the other guys are getting although I would assume it might only be another mill or 2 combined, but who knows.
And yea I agree with your theory that this is good for fighters & boxing as a whole as weird as it seems.
Hell it seems like just like how these YT & TikTok folks have made themselves their own brand from the ground up a fighter could make himself a draw in boxing from the ground up by doing fights on various platforms, their own platforms or on YT, Twitch or other places people make money from currently that are widely used & accepted without going the normal promotional route with so lil actual promotion as it works now. Why couldn't a guy turn pro with subscribers instead of a promoter. Same difference & you might even be able to make more money on your own. Also I've been hearing about these companies that are basically investing in influencers as well. Like they see a guy with talent & give him $100,000 today for a piece of his income for x years. Think there is a MoneyBall stats type sports dork doing this in baseball currently. That cuts out so many of these middlemen in boxing & you can decide your own course in the sport better. Eh, just speculating, but sadly the most fun thing about boxing most of the time is speculating on how things could be better &/or different in new ways with so few of the fights folks wanna see happening.Comment
