      Actually Spanish speaking people are considered Latinos. Both languages, Portuguese and Spanish derived from Latin, are concerned Romance. And most of the new world were conquered by Spain.
      And portugal was part of Galicia that belonged to the kingdom of Leon.

        Kay, I'll explain.

        Hispanic = Language

        Latino = Geography

        Puerto Ricans speak Spanish and so are Hispanic

        Puerto Ricans are from the Latin America, yes the Islands count, and so are Latino

        Filipinos may speak Spanish and so may be Hispanic Filipinos.

        Filipinos are not from Latin American and so are not Latino.

        edited because my dumbass forgot an O.

            I find it strange and how you think the puerto rican people will take it? A person who never claimed his was puerto rican until the moment he can get some benfit from it now he wants to be proud of his heritage.
            More like he was always puerto rican but ashamed of it,

                  This is just sad if he's going for that angle. He's desperate for a fan base so will whore himself out. Maybe Charlo will come out as Japanese and Wilder will finally admit he's a zombie from out of space like we know he is. But don't forget Tank, he's Brazilian didn't you know.

                    Wrong. Latinos and spanish are 2 different groups of ppl. Latinos don't speak Spanish naturally unless taught. Ask one from of the 3 countries I mentioned. They are just as annoyed as I am.
