Or worse yet what if he waits & loses to a older washed Bud? Thats a bad look to. So its probably a net positive for Vergil to fight him sooner cuz it'll be a learning experience more than a loss & if he wins he's a bad mfer everyone is talking about.

Main thing with this is I don't see much upside for Bud whatever happens whenever it happens. But I suppose if there ain't much to choose from on the non-PBC side of the street Vergil might just make sense.
    There's a huge upside.

Vergil Ortiz is fresh off sparking Crawford's buddy and training partner.

The fake beef sells itself: revenge.

Should Crawford beat Ortiz, he takes WBA Gold, he beats a young, undefeated fighter with knockout power, and finally shuts up people like me who rightfully criticize the fact that at 147, he's purposely stuck to non-threats.

Ortiz is a threat. Crawford has to beat a threat. Him doing so puts his name right at the top of the conversation.

Does it put him above Spence? Hell no. But at that point Spence has to either one-up or step up.

I've been watching boxing for 50 years. Is Bud Crawford a good fighter ? Actually he's a really good fighter. But he's got fraud written all over him and you know what? He don't care . He don't care nothing about anything. He's wants low risk / high reward. It's brilliant but he's will never go down as one of the greatest. And you know what? He don't care.

Actually, he said he's already a first ballot HOF'er. Because he "Beat The Man Who Beat The Man", meaning Jeff Horn (his words).

            Not the same.

Crawford is a killer. He doesn't want to give you a boxing lesson he wants to knock your head clean off your shoulders.

Ortiz is very hittable, but I guess so is Crawford.

Whoever wins we can be sure that it aint going twelve.

Fairly certain he didn't do that or anything close to it against Postol.

So you gonna take that one fight as the standard and ignore the tons of other fights where he went for the kill?

                Lol, selective memory much?

Ortiz has got bigger balls than the entire PBC duck parade.

"But Porter and Thurman want it doe", yeah only at a price they know damn well they are not going to get, these guys aint fooling me. Its another PBC freeze out while trying to make the non PBC guy look like the ducker.

Jose Benavidez almost made the final bell. No head taken off.

Khan's "second head" was taken off, don't know if you count that, but his alleged glass chin never shattered.

Ricky Burns saw the final bell. No head taken off.

I mean, I can go on and on.

Bottom line is, he might "go for the kill" but look at the opposition. None of them were live dogs with the exception of Ricky Burns, and he didn't get a KO.

You take a live dog like Vergil Ortiz, and Crawford MIGHT go for it, but I suspect he gets wobbled like he did against Kavaliauskas - and Ortiz is not going to back down when that happens.

The difference you're missing is the age/health of the opponent Crawford is in front of. He's not going to pull a Kell Brook on Ortiz.

Lol, your examples are so horrible dude.

Kahn quite because he knew he was about to have his head taken off.

Jose Benevides had his head taken off so I don't even know why you even brought that up, smh.

Postol fight was the only fight were Crawford fought a strictly defensive fight and yet he still dropped him twice and hurt him badly.
