You do know that Maurice Hooker was the best fighter on Vergil Ortiz' resume right? So far, he hasn't fought anyone good. He has nothing but a lot of tomato cans, journeyman and gatekeepers on his resume. Now compare his resume with both Crawford's and Spence's and then tell me that you do not see a disparity. Neither man would be proving much by fighting Ortiz because it's a no win situation. If they win then won't get any credit for it because fans would say they were supposed to win because they were the more skilled, tested and experienced fighter than the young contender. However, if they lose then they would say that they were both over hyped sensations by losing to a fighter with only 17 prizefights.

Vergil was getting hit a lot of times. The fight isn't a complete domination. Fight lasted 7 rounds, Hooker won like 2 or 3 rounds tops.
