Sauders is a joke and hasnt beaten anybody. People hyping up his chances against Canelo either have an agenda or are delusional. Canelo will batter him

One of the ways the IBF increases sanctioning fees is by having ridiculous mandated fights in unrealistic time frames. Think Crawford's 140-pound strip for not committing to a 14- day mandate right after he unified the division.

The way the IBF does it is to ensure that the #1, and #2 spots are almost always vacant, leading to many hyped-up 'elimination' matches. Take a look at this overall ranking system and witness how many top spots are vacant. https://*********.com/rankings-2

Alas, though now the WBO has introduced a 'global' belt which is in literal terms synonymous with the WBC's 'international', and 'inter-continental - they all mean the same as 'world'! for Pete's sake!

I know this issue is railed on all the time, but if we fans don't voice our disapproval, who will?

Only the wealthiest fighters can pay sanctioning fees to multiple bodies, which has the unwanted effect of discouraging unification and undisputed bouts.

If you're a fringe contender given the opportunity to fight for three belts, you have to cough up three separate fees for the right to fight?

I propose introducing a sliding scale with sanctioning fees, based on the fighters financial position, otherwise, it will continue to erode what's left in the value of 'championship' belts.

Yes, lower belts are a way of climbing the rankings and bringing something to the negotiating table, but it also is still perpetuating the corrupt act of 'buying a title'.

If you have significant financial backers, it's quite easy to buy your way to a title.

        Argh!

Mismatches are the one thing big thing boxing can't sort out. Can see them a mile away, yet they force them to happen.

I appreciate that Saunders has been a one belt wonder with a big mouth who has appeared to sidestep risky fights. I'm not sure if this is the bext boxer Canelo has faced, but t certainly has to be one of the best.

No doubt Saunders will be looking for a wide ring, a judge that breaks a lot, and allows plenty of clinching.

I see Saunders likely winning the first few rounds, but Canelo is fine with that. Eventually, Saunders bicycle will get a flat tire, and Saul will punish him with combinations.

People tend to slightly under-estimate Canelo's boxing nous, which is one of the most creative and improved for some time. there is little chance Saunders can hurt Canelo, so Alvarez will be confident coming forward and bullying Saunders into the ropes where he can break him down.

It might be a similar repeat of the Kovalev fight, with Canelo patiently walking him down, and then POW!

Saunders only real hope is to box like Ali, or pile up points early on and cruise to a decision, but it's highly unlikely.

I'm looking forward to this braggart being put on his heiny.

You hear zero debate from me. Boxing would be better off without sanctioning bodies, belts, eliminators, and sanctioning fees. I wish just one major fighter refused any belt offered him and just fought the best in his division. I think if one boxer did it, others would see him pocketing more money and soaring in popularity and follow his lead. I get the prestige of unifying belts and holding championships held by greats of the past, but these organizations are garbage and their titles mean nothing.

The man holding the title makes the title important, never the other way around. I wish promoters and the teams behind these warriors would sell their fighters on this idea. But it makes it easier to promote fights and stables of boxer when these worthless, comically unimportant titles are held. Arum is just as guilty of using titles to promote crap fights and "B" level fighters.
