Al Haymon and Errol Spence are finishing off what Floyd Mayweather started just over a decade ago...they are killing this sport! MMA is taking over.

Won't learn too much for this. Hooker is made for Ortiz.
      Can't wait to see.

For myself, that’s the one attribute I value the most out of any boxer in the modern era. As for this Hooker fight, don’t see the outcome any different than Ortiz last 16 fights, a KO victory for the kid out of Grand Prairie,TX. Would love to see Vergil get some rounds in but don’t see Hooker with standing the onslaught Ortiz has in store for him. Should be a fun night of fights, Golden Boy always seems to put on some entertaining undercards unlike matchroom.
why don’t you let him beat a champ or even a former champ before jumping out the window and putting him on boxing’s Mount Rushmore.

Hey Oscar, what about Rashidi Ellis? "Speedy" getting treated like a red-headed stepchild! Lol!

Much as I like Ortiz, this fight is no sure thing. At 22 though, a loss is hardly a career killer.

The kid can only fight those that accept to fight him. I mean when ex-welterweight champ Porter says he won’t give Vergil a fight b/c “he didn’t get a shot when he was coming up” what can he do? Ortiz has called out other champs like Thurman, Garcia, Spence a number of times yet for whatever reason none of them has accepted his challenge. Let’s be honest here, everyone @ 147 lbs knows they’re in for a long night w/t Vergil if they fight him. Anyhow, sooner rather than later Vergil will get a mandatory shot @ one of the belts and when he does you’ll see why I say that he’ll go down as an ATG, this kid is a special talent just watch.

Obviously why GDP matched Ortiz with him and why ODLH is talking up how great a victory it would be.

so you don’t know why established fighters haven’t answered the challenges of a 22 yr old who’s accomplished nothing yet? Not to mention, if you haven’t realized that pbc keeps their welterweights fighting each other and hardly ever goes outside the promotion, you haven’t been following what’s been happening to Crawford for the past several years. Regardless of the reason why Ortiz hasn’t had a meaningful fight yet, saying he’ll be an all time great this early in the game is jumping out the window. There have been very regarded prospects that didn’t pan out such as a Bojado or victor Ortiz. There were plenty who thought Fernando Vargas was headed to greatness in his early 20s and look how that turned out.

I like Ellis. Hopefully he's more active in 2021. In a perfect world, I'd match him against Ennis.
