Coppinger: Fury/Wilder Dispute Still Ongoing, Will Know More in the Next Few Weeks

-Coppinger said attorneys will make their cases soon with the arbitrator and then there will be a decision

-Doesn't necessarily think this will hold up the Fury/Joshua fight, but thinks maybe they do Fury/Wilder III instead of paying big damages to Wilder

-TR was responsible for organizing Fury/Wilder III and thinks PBC feels burned for how it turned out since out of nowhere they came back and said the contract expired

-The reason Hearn came out that both contracts are signed came in response to Fury's recent comments

-If the fight doesn't happen next, then he believes the WBO may call for the Usyk fight for Joshua in the meantime

-Biggest hold up of the fight is the site deal and if they can come up with what both fighters want in the summer due to Covid

I'm sure Fury could pay damages to Wilder and fight Joshua and still end up with far more money than if he just fought Wilder instead. Looking forward to a whole hoard of Wilder fans celebrating that the first heavyweight unification in over 20 years may not happen though!

Wilder will get some cash and that will be the end of it.

The unification should only be happening after a third Wilder-Fury fight. There were agreements and contracts in place.

If Wilder fans celebrate it's only because justice is being done and the Fury side will be forced to pay in some fashion for going back on their word.

I was wondering where his multiple posts saying the same BS, trying to put words in people's mouths were this morning...

Redumber just does not seem to understand the concept of motivation. Arum and Hearns were Motivated to say this fight is in the bag. They both tend to play fast and hard with the truth... They have a good reason to say this fight is signed when there are some lies of ommission involved:

            1) There is an option on this fight where if a venue is not secured in 30 days, either fighter can pull out.
            2) There might be a situation with Wilder... I don't pretend to know how strong his position is, BUT it is significant that Fury saw fit to mention it in the interview... Of course Redumber and more than a few just chalk it up to Fury lying. The problem is, what motivation is there for Fury to lie about this fight? It makes more sense that he was contemplating road blocks that could hinder the fight...

We know Fury is extremely sensative to being given false info about a fight. The situation with David Haye really screwed him up. So it is in Fury's best interest not to assume this fight is a given. To me he was candid about this. He even mentioned the Wilder situation.

I hope that people will refer to this thread and post when Redumber starts lying about what other people are saying about this fight.

But but Wilder has no case doe. But rematch clause expired doe. But but LDBC doe

Pay Wilder what he would've made the trilogy or fight him again.

Am more inclined to go with what Arum and everyone else says. They had no contract hence mediation.

Am I supposed to believe a guy that says “My sources” says over the guys in the thick of things? Nah...

The opportunity for a full heavyweight unification does not come along often.. if it's there then it's a damn sight better fight for boxing than watching Fury face Wilder for a third time.

As with any report, who knows how true it is. Now, this isn't a report per se, just what Coppinger thinks.

But has Arum said anything recently about this? I know he didn't think much would come out of this a few months back and then said he can't discuss it any further.
