Think about it for a second Toney's best win at 168 was Iran barkley who got KTFO by Benn in 1 round 2 years before.
oh and Toney was 5 rounds down on all three cards when Barkley's corner pulled him out before the start of round 11, all he had to do was stay stood up to win a wide UD.
Classic. He's probably read about how Toney was lucky to beat Nunn (big myth, btw, Toney slowly broke down Nunn), and then thought he'd run with it here.
I dont know how people are saying that Toney 'did nothing' at SMW.
Iran Barkley was rated #2 in the world at 168.
Tony Thorton was rated #8 at 168.
Tim Littles was rated #5.
and Charles Williams was rated around #4 at Light Heavyweight.
Im not saying he should be rated higher than Calzaghe or anything, but thats fairly solid opposition.
surprisingly, the only top ten guys that Calzaghe faced in his Super Middleweight reign were Robin Reid #6, Richie Woodhall #8, Charles Brewer #5, Byron Mitchell #5, Lacy #3, Peter Manfredo #10, and of course Kessler #2.
not too many guys, considering how long he defended his title.
the top ten guys Kessler beat were Mundine #3, Beyer #4, and Andrade #10.
and I know hes not that recongnisable, but dont forget about Chong Pal Park. Liles had an ok run too.
