Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards. Lewis was badly hurt and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round and was hurt again later in the fight.

    punches landed

    Vitali 156

    Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted and worn down from the accumulation of punches, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission that night and would've KO'd Lewis if the fight had continued.

All 20,000 fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and boo'd Lewis after the fight. Vitali was the real winner of that fight, he battered Lewis into retirement.

Lewis promised Vitali a rematch if he could beat Kirk Johnson.

Vitali destroyed Johnson in 2...The scared Lewis retired like a coward shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 25 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew Vitali would destroy him and tarnish his legacy.

Nobody schooled anybody. That fight was a toe to toe slugfest. And controversy or not, LL won by TKO. And this is old as ****.

Lewis is like one of the best ever so being a little under him is still pretty damn good. And Wlad could get in another 6 - 8 fights easily. He could/should be fighting 3 times a year considering how little damange he takes. He basically doesn't even get hit now.
Wlad's resume still isnt better than Lewis's. mercer was even more shot when kltischko fought him, rahman was shot, thompson wasnt really any special. do you honestly think wlads resume beats lewis's?

round 3 is only a draw because one lucky shot cut klitschko. he was still out jabbing. Even with one eye...

and heres the final rounds...lewis looked shot, very lucky they stopped it as vitali with one eye had more in the tank...

lewis if he was a true warrior would have fought a rematch...
It's funny how some people get instantly blind when cut under or above the eye.

Wlad can beat every single heavyweight in the world today easily except maybe his brother. Furthermore, he would beat everyone Lewis beat and have an easier time of it. It's not his fault the level of competition is lower today assuming it is which probably isn't even true.

I can understand why fans are still debating a controversial fight like Chavez-Taylor I, but I can't understand why people are still obsessing over this fight. Viltali fought well but was too badly injured to continue. What is the controversy?
