Vitali was up 4 rounds to 2. He was winning the fight but that cut which was a lucky shot basically cost him the fight. He lost fair and square but he probably would have won the fight if the doctor hadn't stopped it.

It does mean something because that was the end of Mike Tyson. He didn't accomplish anything significant after that fight.



Except Vitali right? He was winning the fight and Lewis got lucky with a punch that grazed the side of Vitali's face which is a fluke shot. Vitali was winning and didn't want to stop fighting. If you listen to the ringside announcers it is clear that Vitali was on the verge of winning.



Lewis is at a little better than Wlad. And since Lewis is like a top 10 ATG that means Wlad is at least top 20. Vitali is probably better than both of them but injuries prevented him from fighting for 4 years. Plus there is supposedly no good opponents to fight.

3. on what basis is Vitali greater than Lewis? His resume is far, far below Lewis's. and as far as i'm concernded you judge a guys greatness by his resume. Vitalis best win is samuel peter. Id put Wladimir above Vitali simply due to the fact that his resume is alot better and he has accomplished way more.

yes but its very inaccurate though isnt it? a resume is the best way to judge a guys greatness. shure Vitali would defenitley have a chance at beating Lewis and so would Wladimir but Lewis could also have beaten them to.

if Ali fought today he would not have been even close as famous as he is, so it would be hard to know. He would probably not be a famous name to those who did not follow boxing and that would be due to the lack of good names. So no I dont think I would say he is the greatest if he fought today.

Its not even close.

Golota and Tua never even held a belt. Botha sucks. Briggs sucks. Morrison sucks. Mercer was shot and Lewis barely won that fight by decision. Wlad has totally dominated his last ten or so opponents winning almost every single round.

Lewis is like one of the best ever so being a little under him is still pretty damn good. And Wlad could get in another 6 - 8 fights easily. He could/should be fighting 3 times a year considering how little damange he takes. He basically doesn't even get hit now.
