Teofimo Lopez-Top Rank relationship at risk; can it get fixed?
    ESPN
    Ben Baby

"We knew what we were being offered was disrespectful, and we expected the open market would value us differently," Lopez told ESPN's Mark Kriegel. "And it showed today. The $6 million from Triller, right there, says that Top Rank doesn't value the best fighter on their roster..."

On Thursday Top Rank bid $2.3 million, and Eddie Hearn's Matchroom submitted a $3.6 million proposal. Triller, which produced the highly lucrative Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. exhibition back in November, blew both offers out of the water. The outsized deal is typical of a company looking to act as a disruptor in an established marketplace.

On the surface, it's just a one-fight deal that shouldn't affect Lopez's long-term agreement with Top Rank, which has at least two more years remaining. But David McWater, Lopez's manager, sees things a little differently.

"I don't know that you'll ever see him on Top Rank or an ESPN card again," McWater told ESPN Thursday afternoon. "There's a lot of damage done here..."

I'm surprised alot of people agree with hearn. I'm all for fighters getting good paydays but when you overpay for trash fights then they're gonna want way more for tough fights. Thats how and why fighters have been pricing themselves out now more than ever

its literally what happened in the first two years of pbc which is why they always have ppv now.

Multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com that had Top Rank offered somewhere between $3.1 million and $3.4 million combined for the purses of Lopez and Kambosos, a purse bid likely could’ve been avoided. That type of bid probably would’ve paid Lopez between $2 million and $2.2 million for facing Kambosos.

It was HEARN aka DAZN and NOT a Top Rank who offered 3+ mils, you dumb@ss monkeys!

I don't think people are advocating for overpaying fighters by agreeing with Hearn. I think they're taking a stance against a Promoter's vindictive approach to bad mouth, and potentially even sabotage, his own fighters when things don't go his way. And also to Hearn's point, I get Bob's been around for a while (too long honestly), who the **** does Bob think he is to try and dictate what his competitors do?

I actually find it difficult not to agree with Hearn here.

Bro Bob bloody threatened Lopez if he does a purse bid he will cancel him from fight ramirez vs taylor .This tells you everything about Arum.I say Fury especially leaves Top rank and goes elswhere .Same with Crawford too because Bob threatened the Fury joshua fight too

Arum shouldn’t mess with two guys ,that’s Hearn and Dana White he’s petrified of , the way he rips into Arum is legendary .

In the Pac/Floyd negotiations basically he had to be almost completely block out. He is just a cancer for boxing. You can see that he don't have the fighters best interests in hand.

I don't believe either in overpaying fighters but his bid was one of the lowest ones.

I agree with Hearn. This is a terrible look for Bob Arum. The threats didn't stop the bids, Lopez is now fighting on another platform, Lopez is getting paid more then what you wanted him to just shut up and accept, Lopez is making threats that he might be done with Top Rank. Other fighters are watching this and what happened with Crawford. If you are ESPN you can't be happy with what Bob Arum is doing.
