Lol what is Arum guna do? It seems Hearns fights don't tend to go to purse bids cuz he pays them well but even when they do its cuz they ain't worth Jack chit. Is Bob going to put bid Hearn when he won't even attempt to win the bids on his own fighters?

Can someone tell me what was the point of what hearn did? I mean none of him are his fighters and 3mil is still overpaying. Teo beat loma but its not like it made him an automatic draw.

Its hearn job to bring Dazn top fights and he can legally bribe Lopez and gain favor with him. Lopez is not going to finish out his contract with Top Rank and that is clear. Hearn can full well buy out the contract for Lopez and move to Match room and Dazn. Imagine A Canelo and Lopez card will be big for Dazn.

Its insane Arum is actually saying this stuff out loud, for one Bob could have avoided the purse bid by proposing a suitable deal to both sides before it went to purse bids but he didn't.

Secondly, "his" fighter is now going to get 3 times what he was willing to offer, at least come out and say we just couldn't justify offering that amount but super happy Lopez is getting paid.

The really crazy thing is to publicly pressure Hearn not to bid/threatening retribution because he did bid, that opens obvious legal issues, especially when you are in a market that is controlled by only a few participants, that is so obviously cartel behaviour and the worst part is its actually screwing the person you are supposed to be promoting.

Just imagine you own a business and your employee's contract is up for renewal, and you jump on twitter and tell your competitors not to offer them decent money so you can pay them less, then threatening them because they made an offer, its just insanity.

If anything Hearn has handled this perfectly IMO, for one he didn't succumb to the attempt at illegal collusion, but also he sends a message he offers more money than TR, but also avoids having to actually pay the overs and take that lose.

Arum just admitted that he doesn't want the purse bid system to work like it should, with the free market determining the worth of a fight. He wants it to be rigged instead. With the promoters colluding/ cooperating with each other to not place bids.
