mcmillan's switching stance was mentioned, just like how cotto sometimes switch from orthodox to southpaw.

second characteristic is when the trainor/fyter wants to improve/hone/polish on his own style. Antillon was used for the ricky fyt not because he immitates ricky's style...rather to make manny real sharp and alert in his reflexes. roach opined that no way ricky beats a "sharp" manny.

another consideration, like for manny, is sparring with bigger partners. manny developed his punching resistance by sparring with welters and jr.middlewts when he prepared for oscar and ricky. although admittedly, his punching resistance is not tested yet.... can't blame manny there. but it is true that he sometimes let his sparmates **** him hard in the body while leaning on the ropes. there was a brief moment in round 2 when ricky threw 4-5 combos to manny's body, on ropes....replay the fyt. perhaps we will see cotto do more in this department.
    Really good post!!!

Yup, even Roach is pissed by Manny's attitude towards training camp. He said:
"I now hear that Manny wants to train in the Philippines. I think it's a mistake. I think it's too many distractions for him. Cotto's a big 147-pounder, strong guy, beat Shane Mosley, a speed guy like Manny; he nullified Shane's speed with his own speed. People tell me he's slow, but I disagree. He's a tough, tough fight for us. I hope that Manny and his crew wake up and smell the coffee and get to work on picking a place so we can go to camp as soon as possible"

PAC rly is taking this fight lightly, sparring with a guy who's boxing abilities & style r in no shape or form similar to cotto's. I just hope that after cotto Ks PAC TFO he doesn't give him a rematch so that way he learns to take things more serios.

I dont think Pacman will be losing this fight, but rather Cotto will going to sink in just five rounds......

Cotto is strong puncher yeah, but even how strong he is, but if this does'nt connect well.. Pacman will going to eat him all night.

I don't think Team Pacquiao is taking Cotto lightly, even before they agreed to fight. Pacman & Roach has been vocal and admittedly that this is a very tough fight for Pacman considering Cotto is bigger & a heavy puncher as well.

So I think Roach is just doing his job to train Manny in a way that he knows would benefit Manny when fight comes. And we all know that there are several sparring partners and not only 1. Having said that, Roach is preparing Manny with possible scenarios conceivable as he deemed it may be, w/c is very logical and makes more sense.
