MAYWEATHER brought BIG ratings for WWE.

The ratings are in, and despite the negative reviews, The Floyd Mayweather Jr episode of Monday Night RAW scored extremely high according to WWE standards.

Mayweather’s appearance was the second highest rating since WWE started the “guest host” storyline. It came in barely behind Shaquille O’Neal’s appearance.

In fact, Mayweather’s appearance ranks in the top 5 of WWE ratings for the entire year of 2009.

Here’s a list of the ratings for WWE’s “Guest Hosts”:

    (1) Shaquille O'Neal (7/27) - 3.95
    (2) Floyd Mayweather (8/24) - 3.93

    (3) Batista (6/29) - 3.87
    (4) Sgt. Slaughter (8/10) - 3.80
    (5) Freddy Prinze, Jr. (8/17) - 3.79
    (6) Ted DiBiase, Sr. (7/6) - 3.61
    (7) Seth Green (7/13) - 3.55
    (8) Piven & Dr. Ken (8/3) - 3.55
    (9) ZZ Top (7/20) - 3.53

Yep and I believe the Donald Trump one did a 4.5. Anyway Floyd is a bigger draw than most believe. Love him or hate him people watch him. I believe his fight with JMM will sell more than people believe. I also believe that people want to see Floyd's downfall. He is also every boxers biggest payday since Oscar is gone.

I heard the UK News were really talking about his apperance on Raw and hyping the fight.

I don't understand how or why a boxing fan would want the May-Marq fight to flop. Clearly, it won't. The fight is building a lot of momentum.

Why would a boxing fan want a matchup between top 5 fighters to fail?

Floyd Mayweather and DX being back was a good thing for the show

Exactly. That's what I don't understand. I'm a Cotto fan, and it pisses me off when people pray that the fight flops. Why, so they can say "ohh Floyd aint a draw".

Fact of the matter is that if this fight flopped that would be a disaster for the sport. And that's what matters above any petty rivalry between fans.

I expect this fight to do between 500-600K which I think would be fine. I expect Pac/Cotto to do between 800-900K which would also be fine.

                Can someone please enlighten me?

Do WWE fans decide whether to watch the show or not based on the "guest host" or the wrestlers?

Pac-Cotto will not do that high. There is NO WAY that Pac-Cotto will do as much as Pac-Hatton. Cotto is NOWHERE near the draw that Ricky is.
