17 jabs + 1 power punch = 18 punches landed
1 jab + 10 power punches = 11 punches landed

Fighter B checks out, but the math on fighter A makes little sense.

to answer the question, i choose fighter B for clean effective punching and hurting his opponent.

This fight is not based on any certain fight, just trying to illustrate the difficulty in scoring these type of rounds.

You're right, it is difficult to score, because while those stats would indicate that fighter B was doing all the damage, the huge difference in punches thrown means that fighter A was controlling the fight. If he is a "boxer", meaning that his style is to move around the ring, then he was making fighter B (who by the description sounds like a pressure fighter) fight his fight.

It's a close call, but I'd give it to fighter A. We'd have to see just how much fighter B's power punches hurt fighter A, especially since only 10 landed, which means they were few and far between. By throwing so many punches, most of them jabs, fighter A stopped fighter B from executing his gameplan, and he was controlling the action. Also, if he is a good jabber, those shots might be doing more than just scoring points, they could also inflict some damage. It's a difficult situation, and I'd have to see the fight, but based on all of the above, I give it to fighter A.
