Hearns could surely win, despite Mayweather's great skill. Hearns himself was a great boxer with a quick, long, and stiff jab. The right hand has to be one of the greatest the sport has ever seen. I don't know how Floyd would find his way around the jab, but I am sure he would have his moments, he is too smart not to and Hearns sometimes forgot about his defense. That's how Sugar Ray was able to beat him.

I could have sworn you said Mayweather would beat Hearns at 147.

Hearns also wins head to head at 147.
I'd also like to say that despite being a proud Floyd nuthugger, Hearns is the only fighter i'd put money on dominating Floyd

Duran, Pernell etc would more than likely beat Floyd but he'd have his moments whereas Hearns is Floyd's biggest nightmare throughout the history of boxing

I'm still sticking to my Floyd nuthuggery and saying that a 130 lb Floyd is a better fighter than Hearns

hearns is all wrong for floyd... the reach and power and boxing skills is a bad combo for floyd... but hearns is chinny.

You're joking right. One of the greatest ever at 147 vs. some clown who picks his fights based on whether or not he'll get hurt.

            Please.

I think Mayweather would outbox Hearns because despite the haters Mayweather has a lot of heart and an amazing chin. However, unless Mayweather fights Paul Williams etc. he will never come close to the legacy of Hearns, a man that fought Hagler in the best fight I have ever seen.

I think Mayweather would definitely beat Duran. Whitaker is a different story. Tough match up.

Hearns would knock Floyd's head off. He also was one of the best in one of the best eras ever.

Are you serious? You think Floyd would outbox Hearns? If a guy like Sugar Ray Leonard couldn't out box Hearns ... what makes you think Floyd can? Granted yes, SRL did beat Hearns when he gased out, but up until that point Hearns was out boxing SRL, and was even ahead on all the score cards when Hearns got stopped (back when they fought 15 rounds). There second fight was even worse ... he out boxed Leonard again, and dropped him twice, and should have won that fight (IMO). If anything Floyd is getting out boxed. Throw in Tommy's size, huge reach advantage, boxing skills, and superior power, and Floyd is getting murdered. He ant out boxing Hearns and he damn sure ant taking Hearns power.

The other thing is, is that Floyd doesn't even cast a shadow on Tommy's resume. Tommy fought the absolute best fighters in arguably one of the greatest era's ever, and never ducked a fight. The quality of fighters that he fought was also miles ahead of what Floyd fought in his era. Simply put if Hearns where in mayweather's era, he'd have a field day. Now switch the shoes and put Mayweather in Hearns era, and best believe that boys got some loses on his record. So to answer the the threads question Hearns takes Mayweather hands down.
