money,politics,and santioning bodies...boxers have become spoil and the politics ruin boxing events

The thing that ruins boxing are fighters who fight safely as Viva pointed to in another thread. I know he is biased as hell, but when you stop to think about it, it's true up to an extent. I've got a sex life outside of watching pillow punchers and a lot of other people do too. There is no exciting Heavyweight champion to name one thing that is wrong with boxing.

you couldn't be any more wrong! Shows how much you really know. The casual fan doesn't even give **** about politics, sanctioning bodies, or money. That is not what has killed boxing. Larry politics, promoters, and santioning bodies have been around longer than me and you have been alive.

They don't give a **** about those things but they give a **** about the impact those things have on the sport. That's what I think Larry was getting at.

casuals dont know what impact they have. all they know are big names, good fighters and good fights. Politics have not killed boxing. Money has not killed boxing. Its soft fighters not wanting to take risks inside or outside the ring. all this money, politics, corruption has always been a part of boxing, it has never changed. don king and arum are probably both older than me and you combined. The real problem with boxing is that there is no big names anymore. This is no superstars. There is very few fighters with the mentality that the old fighters had. Back in the day fights were HUUUUUGE, because everyone knew it was going to be a fight! Everytime tyson fought people wanted to see, when hollyfield fought people wanted to see, when hearns fought people wanted to see, when arguello fought pryor everyone wanted to see, when tyson fought hollyfield MILLIONS wanted to see, vargas, trinidad, dlh, tyson, hollyfield and so much more that i can name that just came to fight! they brought the beautiful skill of a boxer along with the mentality of brawler and the mentality that ima *** you up before you *** me up! The glory days brought numerous, great, beautiful back and forth wars that left the public wanting more. That is no longer the case, these fighters are nothing to what they used to be. There is very few left and what's depressing and nerve racking what is going to happen when pac, jmm, cotto, retire. Who's left to carry the torch? who are the casuals waiting on?

Anyway, your right... I think it was a close but clear fight... that might not make sense... but what I mean is, on the scorecards it deserved to be close... but it was still quite clear on who won what rounds IMO.

You're being picky in terms of how you're reading the thread. You don't need to know everything on the sport to be able to comment sensibly on it. Just that some of the things people say around here make no sense what so ever.

Easiest way of saying this is someone I know personally tried arguing with me that Amir Khan would beat Hearns. Now if he had some knowledge on the sport he wouldn't say something so ******.
