I thought Kellerman did a really good job in the Tarver-Dawson rematch and the Clottey-Cotto fight. But man he really turned me against him with what he said in this one instance. "Linares is one of the best fighters in any weight class and Soto is a good belt holder." Of course he pointed out that Linares hardly ever fights at all. But give the praise to someone who at least deserves it. Rocky Juarez > A shot Oscar Larios. That's all I've got to say.

It's simple. He hates ***s and believes anyone who is ***ish out to get White fighters.

Here are his comments from the forum 'castefootball' concerning Max Kellerman posted under the username Parody/JD1986 (his former boxingscene name). Notice the "longer arms and legs" comment, seem familiar?

Tonight on HBO's Boxing After Dark, Max Kellerman talked about his choices of the top young fighters in boxing.

Of the 12 or so he mentioned, not a single one was white. No Pavlik, no Boytsov, no Cleverly, and no Dimitrenko. Just Gamboa, Haye, Dawson, Williams etc.

Clearly this man is very prejudiced against white fighters. No, he doesn't come right out and say "I hate white boxers", he'll even reluctantly say something positive from time to time to try to cover his feelings. But any reasonably perceptive person will easily detect his dislike for them.
The ***ish supremacists have for a long time been working on creating the illusion that black men can fight better than we whites.

Max was no doubt taught at an early age that by supporting blacks in boxing, he's indirectly hurting the white "goyim". I think the original plan may have been to convince white men that blacks can fight better, so in situations where a young black man tries to take a young white man's girlfriend, the white man will think it's futile to fight back. Or it may be that they just want to lower the white mens' morale, by having us believe black men to be physically superior and having us fear them. One thing we know for certain: most ***s hate white gentiles.

Every single ***ish person I've ever discussed boxing with, roots for the black fighters to beat the white guys.
His ***ish protocols were likely taught at a very early developmental stage in his life, so even traumatic events like his brother's murder won't stop him from supporting blacks in boxing. ***s have always done so, going back to the 1930s and even before.
It sometimes seems like Max has a ****sexual attraction to young black men, but I think probably not. He just deeply believes that by supporting blacks he's indirectly hurting those he was taught to hate, namely white gentiles.

Kellerman hasn't been brainwashed, he's one of those who are doing the brainwashing! He knows there isn't any difference in athletic ability between the races, although most blacks have the advantage of longer arms and legs than whites of the same height and weight. He wants people to believe that blacks are the better fighters, for the reasons I mentioned above.

Did you know another ***ish commentator, Al Bernstein, had no whites in his top eight p4p for the end of 2008? This is from the current issue of Ring Magazine. The other five, none of which were ***ish, (Dan Rafael, Jim Lampley, Emmanuel Steward, etc) had Joe Calzaghe as either #2 or #3. Bernstein ranked Calzaghe as #9 p4p.

Most of the negative comments in the media about white athletes come from ***s (Raskin, Wetzel, Kellerman, Bernstein, Albert, Farhood, Atlas, Goldman, Dettloff, Rosenthal). I wish they'd give up their ****** centuries-old hatred for the white gentiles, but I've seen no evidence to suggest they ever will.

I don't see why people hate the guy, he is a young old school type he speaks with emotion and knowledge and is very smart to me. lewis is the worst i've ever seen and people act like max is even worse than him. Lewis is the redundant man to ever hold a microphone IMO.

              1) He gave a VERY reasonable and passionate discussion about how Paulie's marketability is less than Diaz' marketability (based on their fighting style). And PM's inability to bring a big fan base forces him to travel, and he is then subjected to a hometown decision. If Paulie had a big Italian-American base in NYC, he could just stay up there and fight. Like Gatti did...or how Cotto made MSG his home. (Do you think Cotto would have gotten the Mosley decision in Cali?). Smart, honest stuff.

              2) He discussed how Paulie struggled to make weight. That confirmed what I thought based on the way PM looked at the weigh-in.

              3) He allowed an emotional fighter to "get his **** off" during an interview. This is the opposite of what Merchant does. Larry seems to think it's about him, and not about the fighter or the fans.

              4) Max talked about the fighter meeting with Klassen. Us fans don't have exposure to that, and that is why we need good commenmtators. To bring us behind those closed doors.

Max gets crapped on a lot on these boards. I just wanted to recognize his good work, and commend him for it. Way to go, Max.

Side note: after a whole night, Lennox still couldn't say "Mah-lee- nah- jee". WTF is Maligino?
I couldn't agree more, I was thinking the same thing during the fight. When I was a little younger and he was on ESPN, I hated the guy, he seemed obnoxious to me. Then I read he was an atheist (like me) and Wu-Tang fan (also like me), and I thought "OK maybe he's not a total idiot but he still sucks", but I gotta say, he's won me over as a fan watching him commentate on HBO. He loves the sport more than any other commentator out there, and as a passionate fan, I can identify with that and relate to it. Same thing with Bill Walton, I used to think he was corny and ******, but he IS knowlegable and passionate about basketball, and know I'm a fan of his.

Also, like you said, he lets the boxer speak his mind, and doesn't interrupt and cut them off like Merchant does. Another thing he does that I like is that he asks good questions in an eloquent, yet accesible manner. Merchant (whom I tolerate, and even like on occasion), and Jim Gray (whom I absolutely HATE) pepper their questions with many big words intended to inflate their own ego and impress others. What are they trying to prove? The point of the interview is for the fans to know what the boxer thinks, and if you ask him questions with extremely complex words he will NOT understand, especially RIGHT AFTER BEING HIT IN THE HEAD MANY TIMES.

Roy was insightful, but completely unprofessional OFF the air. HBO asks for their team to get to the fight city on Wednesday. Thursday at the latest. Roy said that he wanted to fly in on Saturday morning. Seriously. When pressed, he was willing to make a concession to fly in on Friday. HBO told him to kick rocks.

You need to get to the city a few days in advance to attend production meetings, attend the weigh-in, attend fighter meetings, and to generally help promote the event with your presence. Seeing Roy Jones at hotels and restaurants in your city generates excitement about the fight. He didn't get that.

Yes, Roy. We understand that you have been in boxing your whole life, and you can recognize what a fighter is doing within 30 seconds. But the job entails more than that.

I even heard that Roy is the hardest person to contact, even if the caller is an HBO bigwig who's about discuss business with him. Roy can make himself disappear if he wanted to...

Funny, this board loves and hates all the commentators. In the end they all bring in their own to the table and make it equal.
