In my opinion, you saw last night why Max Kellerman is so good.
1) He gave a VERY reasonable and passionate discussion about how Paulie's marketability is less than Diaz' marketability (based on their fighting style). And PM's inability to bring a big fan base forces him to travel, and he is then subjected to a hometown decision. If Paulie had a big Italian-American base in NYC, he could just stay up there and fight. Like Gatti did...or how Cotto made MSG his home. (Do you think Cotto would have gotten the Mosley decision in Cali?). Smart, honest stuff.
2) He discussed how Paulie struggled to make weight. That confirmed what I thought based on the way PM looked at the weigh-in.
3) He allowed an emotional fighter to "get his **** off" during an interview. This is the opposite of what Merchant does. Larry seems to think it's about him, and not about the fighter or the fans.
4) Max talked about the fighter meeting with Klassen. Us fans don't have exposure to that, and that is why we need good commenmtators. To bring us behind those closed doors.
Max gets crapped on a lot on these boards. I just wanted to recognize his good work, and commend him for it. Way to go, Max.
Side note: after a whole night, Lennox still couldn't say "Mah-lee- nah- jee". WTF is Maligino?
