Short answer no. Why? Well no black fighter will ever be popular if they are this good in the ring. Ask MMA's p4p best fighter in the world, Anderson Silva. He goes up in weight to KTFO the former champion with a freaking jab while going back, some people still boo him and most people want to see him lose so badly they are trying to get him to heavyweight LOL. Anderson is as humble as one can be, he bows to a booing crowed 1000x times and if he happens to not KO someone he's compelled to say he's sorry and will try harder next time. GSP, a white canadian who happens to also be very good, has cleared his division and the logical step would be for him to step up in weight and challenge Silva like Silva and BJ Penn done before him. No, people (and when i say people i mean most of the media too, it's the freaking society) say GSP "should stay at his weight class and continue to kick ass". See double standards anyone? But as it's also so typical these people will never say what everyone already knows (it smells), they rather say something like "he's ****y" or some other BS like that. In boxing it's the same thing. If you are black, dominant and haven't lost to a white guy if at all, you will be hated on. Everyone knows this.

But that's why also why so many black fighters excel and become ATG fighters, they are always forced to keep proving themselves no matter the age and condition they are in. That's why we don't have any black Sven Otkes, Joe Calzaghes or Rocky Marcianos, too.

no i dont think so! he has great skills, but hes just not that good to watch IMO. i personally rather watch a good brawl of a fight like pac v marquez 2 style than watch 1 shot at a time and constantly on your bike.

You know... I've never really liked PBF. However, respect is given where respect is due, the man has skills, and I respect and admire that. If he was humble? I'd probably be able to stomach him a little better.

.......... For casual fans, his persona is the only entertaining part about him, doesn't matter if they like him or not. Because inside the ring, my friends can't watch one of his fights without suddenly developing a case of ADD and start doing some other sheit...

            Heres the thing

theres a big difference between Floyd Mayweather's Money than Shanes Mosley's Money.

Floyd PPV Sales are Greater than Shane's.

I put them together because they are the two premire African American Boxers of the area in their weight class.
Shane is what many would consider a "Class Act" but that doesn't mean great marketability. I think Floyd would have bene a HBO WCB fighter rather than a PPV fighter if he hadn't made this change.

            Here is why.

People want to see Floyd get jacked up. People don't feel the same or as strongly about Shane Mosley.

Floyd was going down the Shane Mosley road 5 years ago. Yes He had people's respect but he garnered little interest. It wasn't until he became Money Mayweather (Eventhough he was known still as Pretty Boy) during the Gatti Fight were he became Loathed and finally captured peoples attention outside the ring.

What you are known for doing out the ring equals sales for inside the ring

At the of the day boxing unfortuantly is a business. Floyd would love to be the golden boy and humble but he would have never landed the fights he had and be in the same tax bracket had he not. He's doing whats best for his career.
            This is accurate

someone posted a video of Mayweather's post interviews after his fights. you could see in the beggining him respectfully asking for fights with anyone, thanking the fans, and just trying to be as humble as possible. As you move to his later fights you can see him becoming frustrated in the interviews almost angry with even his own promoter. His attitude is def not the real him. but in boxing having everyone want to see you get beat will sell more tickets than if everyone wanting to see you win. he knows his style isn't going to draw in the casual fan so he uses this persona to do it. He got tired of playing the side and took a risk and now its paying off.

Mosley was more entertaining then and he still is now. Mosley got stunning highlight reel knockouts, the 1st and 12th rounds of his first fight with de la hoya are classics.

Yes but it seems to be in the nature of his family to be incautiously noisy so that may be understandable.

he wouldnt be as hated if he was humble but he also wouldnt be loved because of his style of fighting. boxing fans want to see bloody wars in the ring and because of mayweathers skill he is not drawn into those type of battles. also mayweathers arrogant bad guy act helped his ppvs against "good guys" hatton and de la hoya
