Would MAYWEATHER be more popular if he was HUMBLE?

Mayweather is obviously the most talked about boxers in the last several years.

Apart from his skills, do you think his persona helps with that? Playing the bad guy... He gets the attention from both "haters" and fans. But does he have much fans? He mainly attracts wannabe gangstaz like larrysmith...

Do you think Mayweather would be more popular and have more fans if he didn't act like a ******?

PS: May I also add that I don't ever root for fighters. (meaning that I'm not a fan of any boxer, I'm a fan of boxing) I always want the best man to win. I also think Floyd's skills are amazing.

No he wouldn't, most people I talk to, that know boxing always tell me, "I want to see him lose, he talks alot of ****". Even those who don't know much about boxing want to see him lose.

Yes he did, people should watch Mayweather's early career. I remember when SSM was getting all the spotlight, all over Espn, undefeated and he was more humble then Floyd. Plus, we couldn't possibly say Shane was more entertaining because Mayweather was damn entertaining back then. It really didn't work for Mayweather.

When Floyd is humble I like him. When he acts like a thug gangsta rich boi it's disgusting since he's trying to be someone he's not. The problem is I don't think he has to act that way to sell fights. If he was just his humble self and always brought it for the fans he'd sell out stadiums with a fanatical following ala Pacquiao. He'd be the next Sugar Ray Leonard as well as an inspiration for African-American youth everywhere to be the best at what they love to do. However when parents see his thug wannabe persona they just cringe. I'm of the opinion he'd be more marketable if he stayed the way he was in 2001 after the Corrales fight and just kept himself honest.

Mayweather shows a lot of respect after fights. IMO, Money is largely an exaggerated persona. When the camera isn't on him, I'm sure his personality is a lot closer to how he handled himself early in his career.

I don't think this question really matters any more. I believe he finally understands his impact on the history of the sport, and with age sometimes comes perception.

I don't care when Mayweather talks crap, I like when boxers have personality. Mayweather isn't popular because he says ridiculous things that aren't true and has ****** reasons for not fighting people.
