Being the bad boy does give him attention. But he still isn't that much of a draw. He could have probably been America's sweetheart since he was allegedly robbed in the olympics.

And besides, is the attention really worth it when people will remember you as a fake gangsta idiot?

I like watching Floyd in the ring, always a great display of skill. But his interviews etc... are just embarrasing. He always makes a complete fool of himself and it's not making him any more money. He's just being talked about more... In a bad way.

If Floyd chilled out a bit and acted less like a thug, ***** would probably invite him to the White House. That would boost his popularity through the roof!

people love too hate him,so the answet too you're question is no
he isnt always exciting in the ring unlike pacquioa who is always great too watch but a bore outside of the ring,so floyd likes too make a show of things, where as manny would rather do the talking in the ring

Floyd IS humble in real life. He's real nice and appreciates his fans.

                      Heres the thing

theres a big difference between Floyd Mayweather's Money than Shanes Mosley's Money.

Floyd PPV Sales are Greater than Shane's.

I put them together because they are the two premire African American Boxers of the area in their weight class.
Shane is what many would consider a "Class Act" but that doesn't mean great marketability. I think Floyd would have bene a HBO WCB fighter rather than a PPV fighter if he hadn't made this change.

                      Here is why.

People want to see Floyd get jacked up. People don't feel the same or as strongly about Shane Mosley.

Floyd was going down the Shane Mosley road 5 years ago. Yes He had people's respect but he garnered little interest. It wasn't until he became Money Mayweather (Eventhough he was known still as Pretty Boy) during the Gatti Fight were he became Loathed and finally captured peoples attention outside the ring.

What you are known for doing out the ring equals sales for inside the ring

At the of the day boxing unfortuantly is a business. Floyd would love to be the golden boy and humble but he would have never landed the fights he had and be in the same tax bracket had he not. He's doing whats best for his career.
