Was Sugar Shane Mosley's win over Margarito smoke and mirrors?

SSM is past prime, but nowhere near shot. He beat Marg's ass on some proper **** and KO'd him, which I didn't think any WW could do after Cintron and Cotto failed. Problem is, he assumed that win would automatically propel him into a payday fight wit Pac or Mr boat buyer. He shoulda known he wasn't gettin Pac. Mr boat buyer-SSM is logical, but he shouldn't have expected that either. His refusal to forget about Pac cost him a chance wit Berto already, and another could go down the tubes if he don't take it soon. SSM should just fight somebody already. Beats sittin on the shelf.

Is it unreasonable for Shane to feel that he was the number 1 WW after that win? Cotto lost to the man Shane beat him badly, I rememeber shane wanting Cotto again at Staples first anyway. Why would he bother with Berto who clearly doesn't want any real elite fights? he wanted what anyone at WW wants Mayweather , Cotto and later Pac. Clottey would have made sense had he got the W but he didn't so why does Shane an ATG have to be expected to take lesser fights after beating the nuber 1 WW. Then after Cotto's fight Pac goes after him like he's the best WW and Shane gets nothing, it's bull****. Cotto should have fought the rematch if he was serious about being a WW, cause he don't even want to put his title on the line with Pac. Cotto fans want Shane to fight Clottey cause if Cotto lose to pac and shane beats Clottey than can demand a rematch then, I say **** all that if cotto loses let him fight on espn or force him to rematch margorito and shane can go after floyd. That seems far fetched but floyd Vs shane is way more likely being that Top rank will not give either a fight with pac anyway.

You clearly misinterpreted my post. SSM had every right to challenge Mr boat buyer, but he shoulda known damn well dude wasn't gonna fight him. And to hell wit lil Pac. He's a JWW. I don't think Cotto or SSM are ever gettin Mr boat buyer, so they shoulda rematched for a new lineal title instead of sweatin lil Pac. Only option he got is Berto or Clottey, and I'd like Clottey more, but Berto is the easier fight. He's just bein stubborn.

Shane never went anywhere. Your talking about a man with a 46-5 record. My boy Vernon Forrest dominated him twice. And then Ronald Winky Wright got him twice. Most recent loss was to Cotto. Shane is still a great fighter. He looked real good against Margarito. I hope to see him fight soon.

People always talk about what Shane said, but forget what Arum said. Shane said he would love to fight a rematch with Cotto in Vegas or LA. Bob Arum went on to say that that a fight with Cotto and Mosley can wait, because Shane would want at least 50%. The article is on here.

Also after the Margo fight. When the promoters were talking at the post conference. Shane said he wanted Floyd, Cotto, and the Pac vs Hatton winner. Arum said he still wanted Cotto vs Margo in June. Plus he even said I want Mosley vs Clottey, so the winner can meet. That video was on youtube, but HBO took it down.

As for the Williams vs Mosley. That was Lampley saying that **** after Mosley vs Margo. Merchant said he wanted to see Floyd vs Mosley during the Pac vs Hatton fight.

How did Cotto prove that he is better than Mosley when he couldn't even out land him in punches when he got the narrow victory over him, and Mosley brutally destroyed the guy who has Cotto's number? People just see what they want to see I guess. Imagine what would've happened to Cotto if he had to fight a prime Mosley.
