Mayweather isn't actually a bad person. There are times when you get a glimpse of who he actually is and it's clear to see. See his reaction after the Hernedez fight. He puts on the villain mask to promote fights.

I always said...I met Floyd a few times, also chatted with him online (he used to go into the AOL chat room believe it or not) and my experience with him each time led me to believe he was a pretty cool dude...and, also, for what it is worth, PBF trains VERY hard. I wasin the gym with him, his routine is rough and constant....

You can get similar testimony from many other boxing people who have met him.
