I'll watch it...but 24/7 in general gets boring after 2 episodes...

It should be 2 1 hour episodes...

I'd guess the baseline for a successful 24 7 is at least 800K buys and above. You figure it costs 2-3 million to produce the shows for the $40 million ROI which 800K buys will get you. That also doesn't count the other promotional investments and PPV revenue sharing.
The other thing to keep in mind is that TWO 24/7's this fall chews up 8 sundays on HBO's calendar. And a 24/7 is MUCH cheaper to produce (no talent costs) than an original series. So the economics of comparative production costs works out well for HBO.

24/7 is not for you. You are not the target audience. You will be buying the fight whether they had a 24/7, a Countdown or nothing at all. You are a passionate, dedicated boxing fan. And apparently, a huge Pac fan.

The 24/7 series is targeted towards the casual or mainstream fan. those are the guys who move the PPV needle.

Please remember , guys: we are not the "typical" boxing fan. We are hardcore fans who spend hours in a boxing forum.
You're the one missing the point, you don't need to sell Pac/Cotto - 24/7 to the casual and/or mainstream fans because without a doubt they'll watch it and buy the PPV. However, if you're targeting the regular HBO subscribers then it's a hard sell. You cannot turn a regular HBO viewer into a mainstream boxing fans just because of a 24/7 episode.

Not even. They can participate in American social programs.

Does the Philippines have an equivalent of welfare, food stamps or social security? I don't know. Doubtful. My perception is no. Because the UN development index is so low.

Give me ONE example of either Pac or Cotto selling a fight to the casual fan.

Ex, of course, Pac's two fights that included 24/7's.

                  Just ONE example.

they don't, but those "incentives" are just a cover to all the problems in PR. without them, PR is wayyyyyyyy worse than the phillipines sadly

btw, a rican doesn't pay taxes, but gets all the incentives that living low class in the US provides. jumping to the US doesn't work well for every rican, especially those in the urban areas
