Arum said (i know, I know) that it would. My guess is that HBO tries to bail out of it. November is sweeps month. Why put this snoozefest on with guys stuttering through broken english duringthe most important ratings month of the year?Comment

He is just taking that Baldomir-ish break. Remember for that fight, he spent most of the time praising him and justifying the fight happening. Then he went on to the mega-event in full trash-talk mode.Mayweather did a good job hyping his fights in both his previous 24/7's. Embraced the bad-guy persona. But I expect a SIGNIFICANT change in this series. He seems less passionate about the sport. I don't expect the FMJ-JMM 24/7 to be compelling at all.
Think about the way he acted in the opening pressers with Oscar and Ricky, and how he acted in the JMM presser.
JMM is his Baldomir in terms of promotion, Pacquiao will be his Delahoya. That's where he gets hyped.Comment

This is not necessary. Pbf is not that skilled either but managed to rake in the PPV's and a highly rated 24/7 series. Both roy jones and calzaghe speak good english but could only manage 200k ppv (if memory serves me right ).This will be the worst 24/7 ever.
Keep in mind that neither one of these guys is exactly what you would consider 'skilled' in the English language. Nor are they charismatic. So, you will have four episodes of subtitles. With Cotto saying the same boring drivel over and over: "he is a good fighter. I am prepared. I trained hard".
Meanwhile, Pacquiao will be praying in an empty church. If you notice, they try to make the Pac 24/7 episodes about his entourage: buboy, roach, moorer, etc.
ZZZZZzzzzzzzzz
But to say neither is charismatic when they both have large casual fan bases is a no no.Comment

It's not really fair to compare PR to the Philippines. PR is backed up and provided for by the U.S. and it's a much smaller island, population wise and land mass. There is shelter and medical care provided in the Philippines, it's just not as efficient in comparison to U.S.. Not that this fact proves much of anything, but we have 3 of the largest malls in the world, a third world country wouldn't and couldn't have that for the simple economic reason that if a country is too poor, it wouldn't be able to supply and have a demand to have 3 of the largest malls in the world. India don't even have a mall, yet. Supposedly they'll have one next year, at least that's what my Indian friend told me.I'm not very educated on that, so i'll defer to your better knowledge.
But I do know that the social programs keeps the PRican from hitting a depth of poverty that the Filipino is exposed to every day.
A 65 year old sick Rican can get food, shelter and medical care. A 65 year old sick Filipino is at much more serious risk unless family provides.

Any way the 24/7 will be great, will help hype the fight even more, not that it needs anymore, but still will be very interesting to sit down with friends have a couple of beers.
As far as the 3rd world country comment, PR a third world country come on... I am not going to comment on PH since I don't know much about it and never been there, so it would be inaccurate for me talking about it.
I have lived in the states and actually is they are not far apart, you have the good places and the poor places. To be successful you have to know people and have proper education, right know the young professionals must have Masters Degree minimum to land a good job because it is very competitive in the private sector, even thou I must admit the public sector is kinda ****ed up.
And as far as a country man of mine said that we dont pay taxes??? Yes we do, Even thou I am going to take it as he meant that we dont pay taxes to the IRS, well most dont but some of us acctually do... I do ... t sorprenderias de la cantidad de gente que le tenemos que pagar al IRS.
I visit a lot places in south america and believe me I have seen what a 3rd world country is... PR is not one of them.Comment
