So let's say Cotto comes in at 147...

...in a welterweight title fight, but the contracted catchweight is 145. Will he still be eligible for the belt?

weigh in he must be 145. fight night its whatever 170-200 lbs doesnt matter. i think theres a fine (at least 1million a pound per pacs request) if he goes over 145 on weigh ins.

thios is an interesting point, if the weltewrweigh belt is on the line then he should be allowed to come under the WW limt and anything above 140 and below 147 is WW.

I don't think that is in place this time.

He wont come in over 145. A million dollars for each pound over, believe you me, he will be spot on come weigh in. Cotto want's these belts just as bad as Manny and he will honor the contract.

its the reason why they call it a catch weight. And that 1 million per pound over i believe is in effect so they BOTH would take it seriously. If theres no penalties per pound over Cotto can care less. if Cotto comes in over 147 on weigh in-- 2 million for pac! They cant cancel a title figth cuz of the weight issue. Cotto wont even pay up the 150k sanction fee, imagine him trying to cough up a millie.. thats why hes training early.

The WBO has the option to strip him of the belt if they choose.
If I were Manny I would tell him to lose the weight or the fights off. I mean after all that talk and barter about a catchweight, and Cotto comes over?
