Is Floyd Mayweather past his prime?

It's funny how when we talk about ANY other fighter who was at home for two years, we talk about inactivity and ring rust. But when it comes to Mayweather, it is suddenly "preserving his body".
There is no substitute for high-level competition. Period. Inactivity is bad. For anyone. Mayweather is not a guy who has been beat up in fights. Not fighting for two years hurts a guy who depends on speed, timing, accuracy and stamina. All the things that erode with time and inactivity.
doyou honestly think he has been out of the gym the whole time? hes a gym rat.
do you honestly think this wasnt the plan from the begining to let the sport miss him and get rest at the same time?
