Some fighters grow in weight naturally, others can't put on weight at all, without losing speed and power. JMM was physically dominated at Lightweight and was clearly winning those fights on skill against naturally bigger men. He also looked slower at Lightweight than he had looked at Super Featherweight.
By contrast, Pacquiao physically dominated Hatton, who was generally regarded as physically the strongest of the current Jnr Welterweights, and who had been lineal champion for nearly four years. Roach believes and has frequently stated that Pacquiao is now a natural Jnr Welterweight, and that he could no longer fight at Lightweight even if he wanted to.
Cotto last fought at Jnr Welterweight three years ago and was severely weight drained in his last two fights at that weight. He is and has been for some time a natural Welterweight. He outgrew the Jnr Welterweight division more than three years ago. If you can't see that you're blind.

Roy Jones was a dedicated athlete with good stamina when he returned to Light Heavyweight and was weight drained.
Hopkins is a dedicated athlete with good stamina but was weight drained in his last couple of fights at Middleweight.
Whether Floyd would suffer from weight drain if he returned to Jnr Welterweight - or for that matter, if he returned to Lightweight - is impossible to prove because he refuses to do so even when fighting fighters from those weight classes (first Hatton and now JMM) - even though his fans claim he's still a natural Jnr Welterweight. He appears to disagree with his fans and appears to believe that he would be weight drained at 140, because it's massively in his interests legacy-wise to fight JMM at 140, if he can do so without being weight drained - but he clearly doesn't think he is capable of doing so.
And even his fans don't claim that he could return to Lightweight without being weight drained - yet according to your logic he should be able to do so.
It is extremely unusual for any fighter, however dedicated, who has outgrown a weight class, to return to their previous weight.Last edited by Dave Rado; 08-19-2009, 07:16 PM.

That is all I'm saying.

Of course it will'yeah right. I don't know why DLH has this guy as the head and mouth of his company. He's an ass licking moron who'll say anything for Goldenboy no matter how ****** he looks. I don't know how the person who ask him this question could keep a straight face and not laugh at this retarted statement.
