Pavlik is becoming more and more of a ***** as time goes by. How many times is this jerk gonna hurt himself before a fight? He cuts his hand on glass after the first fight with Taylor leaving the rematch somewhat in doubt. He gets sick before the Hopkins fight and almost calls it off. He calls off the Mora fight. And now this.
Look this guy hasn't fought anyone worth a damn in 2 YEARS as Middleweight Champion. He had that much time to fight Arthur Abraham and STILL didn't do it. Kelly is just not a good champion. He's not made for this. He's just waiting, sitting on those belts and not defending them like a real champion would. When he does finally fight Paul his ass is getting sent back to the mid-card where he belongs.Comment

So, he ALMOST didn't fight Taylor again, but he did. He almost didn't fight B-Hop, but he did? And the one fight he didn't make before this was vs. Mora, who gives a phuck. Now his hand is hurt and he is ready to go in Nov. or December the latest. By my count that's one fight that he's actually backed out on, and it was against a guy who he woulda knocked out pretty much for sure, and one guy who almost priced himself outta the fight and now Goosen says may not even accept the postponement date, because why? If Williams wants the belts can't he wait one more month? Oh yeah, the Abraham fight not bein made is a two way street. Arthur left the middleweight division, not Kelly. And before he did, he didn't have a single middleweight fight in the U.S. to make a name for himself, something Arum insisted on before the fight went down. He fought Miranda above MW. That was the only attempt at making a name. Ask even the average boxing fan in this country and they still don't know who he is. Is that Kelly Pavlik's fault too? I could easily argue that Arum shouldn't have made that demand of Abraham. One win against a semi-contender on US soil wasn't making much of a difference. It works both ways, but it's mostly Pavlik's fault that the fight never happened.
Anyways, Pavlik loses his titles in November or December now instead of October. I'm just pissed off as a fan that I have to wait longer.Comment

Man even since B-Hop handed Pavliks ass to him he hasnt been the same... I was even surprised he took that Williams fight in the first place and not surprised he withdrew... If I was Williams I would definetly take the Martinez fight and say **** this fight...Comment

Random thoughts on this
This is the best fight that can be made at 160. Has been for a long time. I am a Pavlik fan. I like both guys. I like watching guyd fight. It is disapointing Kelly Pavlik has only faught once since the loss to Hopkins. It is disappointing in how he loss to Hopkins. I personally had no beef with him fighting Marco Antonio Rubio. The guy was on a win streak, was Pavlik's mandatory, and ranked somewhere in The Ring's top 10. Definetly wasn't neccasarily trying to see a fight with Duddy or Sergio Mora but feel either could have been pretty good(particularlly the fight with Duddy). I would just to like see Kelly Pavlik fight again. I would love to see a Pavlik Williams fight now, but I honestly think the right time is next year. I think Pavlik should fight a fight in between because he hasn't faught in eight months, although I still think he could beat Williams now. There isn't much else at 160 currently, but in the mean time Williams can go on and smash Mosley, or Cintron, or Dzindzurik, or Clottey or whoever, and have that much more momentum heading into the Pavlik fight, making it an even more anticipated fight. This fight will happen. Whether this year or in the spring, it will happen.Comment
