...Lets not get carried away with the whole thing. He is a young kid that got careless. He will be more careful in the future and it was a learning experience. He came back from it nicely and didn't let it send him into a panic like it would have most young guys. I give him credit for getting back in that fight and putting a hurt on Corley. I think the kid will still be a very good one with some seasoning.

    • You people need to understand that Cotto outweighed Corley by 17 pounds. In the heavyweight division it's not that big a deal but in the junior and welterweight class it makes a world of difference. Maybe if Corley was a bit heavier he may have knocked Cotto down. Cotto got careless and that is why he got hit as many times as he did. Also by saying Cotto has no chin it's obvious that you did not see the fight. It was a behind the ear shot that wobbled him. It happens to every boxer if they get hit there.

      • What a ludicrously dumb post.

A lot of people have made themselves look extremely foolish over a misstep from which Cotto recovered and went on to dish out a beating.

Lets not mention the fact that the fight was over when Corley feigned a low blow in the first in order to prevent certain defeat.

Exactly right, the right hand was right on the waistline and the left to the liver hurt him as you saw in the replay. I don't know if anybody noticed but about a minute into his time he was allowed he looked at his corner w/ a smirk and winked. If it wasn't for an incompetent ref the fight would have been over round 2.

          • coto did lowblow corely with one of them knock downs, if u cant see that your just lying to yourself. corley was handling coto's punches and he caught coto with an excellent counter shot. u cant say coto was gonna beat him anyway cause it never happened so shut up about that.

You need to watch the fight again, I've watched it twice now in slow motion and he did not hit him low. Corley didn't even react to the right on the waistline, the left to the liver made him hunch over to the side and run sideways.

You really must not have seen the shot, none of the shots from the knockdown in round 5 were low. It was a hard body shot that made him go down.

Mine isn't an opinion it's a fact, I've seen it slow motion TWO times. Maybe you should ask some other people who have seen the fight twice and know what they are talking about.
