Oh and some people like to throw in Salvador Sanchez in the mix BUT IMO he has a big question mark next to him because of his really early passing.

For me it would have to be
    1. JCC
    2. Olivares
    3. Morales
    4. Lopez
    5. MAB/JMM but if JMM wins he would be a solid 5
This is so true! Being 29 I would say that JMM would be #2 second only to JCC

If JCC is the ultimate as far as Mexico's best is concerned,Marquez takes the first spot hands down if he defeats floyd!!Marquez has had an impressive career!!Add the fact that he is more skilled than JCC & having a win over floyd, who is arguably the best fighter of this gen.,says a lot!!Marquez fought the best each weight div. had to offer & is easily top 2 pfp right now, this is an easy question to answer!!!

Why does it have to be behind jcc when salvador was better?

^ b/c of accomplishments. most would agree jmm is a better fighter than jcc was but jcc has the resume.

He'll be the best ever, IMO. JCC, Sal and Finito follow him.

I would have him behind Chavez, Sanchez, and Oliveras. I would have a tough time choosing who would be higher between JMM and Lopez. But I think a victory over Mayweather should do it for JMM.

He surpasses JCC no doubt, this will be like when chavez fought whitaker. Not to mention the fight will look very similar except marquez is believe it or much more intellegent than jcc ever was in the ring let alone at age 35. Marquez really is an astonishing fighter, a win over may would not only rank him as the "greatest" mexican boxer ever but as an all time great altogether.

Chavez vs. Marquez at 135 in their prime. Come on yall know marquez would figure out how to pull this one out. Hes a genius in the ring.
As for anyone that still believes that morales or barrera got **** on this guy. COME ON..they are entertaining boxers but thats about it. Mexican versions of hatton.
Marquez truly makes me proud to be a mexican boxing fan.

It doesn't mean he surpasses JCC. Leon Spinks beating Ali didn't make him an ATG.
But Leon had no additional "body of work". Marquez does. He is currently the P4P #2. The Mayweather notch on his belt would (WILL) simply be the crowning achievement of his career.
