I haven't seen a single xenophobic post in this thread by an American. They may not rate Froch as highly as you'd like them to, but not one of them has claimed that their low rating of him has anything to do with his being British.

But I have seen a large number of xenophobic, racist posts by British posters in this thread, which make me feel ashamed to be British. Why can't Froch fans just support him because they think he's good, rather than making it all about what country he happened to be born in?

This is a boxing forum, and true boxing fans rate fighters based on their ability, not based on their country of birth.

ehmm its not like i think froch is a super god or anything, he has beaten 2 good fighters Pascal(now light heavyweight champ) and taylor (former undisputed middlweight champ) yet he doesnt get any respect at all from the americans. and the same thing will happen if he beats dirrell he will get zero respect from americans as usual.

but this is as usual when it comes to all brittish/europen fighters, they NEVER get any respect what so ever from the americans.

I give give credit where it is due, no matter the nationality, and while Froch I don't think will win this (Kessler will), I'll be anticipating his fights more than any other fighter's during this tournament.

Froch will be the favourite against Dirrell so I don't think it'll be an upset and last time I checked the British odds, Froch and Kessler were actually joint favourites to win the whole thing. I guess that's mainly due to them two being the most proven at Super Middleweight.
