I give Froch credit for his achievements and couldnt care if he was from Mars. Its some of the things he does in the ring that Im not a fan of, some things I do like, but Im not a fan of seeing a guy throw lead uppercuts from halfway across the ring. My thought on that is who has that landed on in sparring or in a past match? Im thinking it must have landed on someone for him to be confident in trying it over and over time and again, just looks kinda silly. I will be tuning in to see him fight and hope he puts on a good show.

Plenty of Americans found his win over Taylor exciting, and plenty of boxing fans, whether American or not, consider him to be crude and limited. The fact is, both are right - he is very exciting to watch, but he was rather crude and limited against Taylor, even though he managed to get the win. Dirrell is unproven, so if Froch beats him it won't and shouldn't increase his standing very much, although if he performs with a bit more defensive intelligence against Dirrell than he showed in his last two fights, and if he listens to his trainer for a change, that would increase his standing.
He has an excellent jab but rarely used it in the early rounds against Taylor, and when he did, he timing was way off. He rarely used his jab in the early rounds against Pascal either. If he jabs effectively against Dirrell, and if he keeps his hands up and chin tucked in when moving out of range, he will start to be rated more highly by neutrals.
You're just being paranoid. Those who rate him lower than you do don't do so simply because he's British.Last edited by Dave Rado; 08-18-2009, 11:56 AM.Comment

Im rooting for Froch, but his constant **** talking is gonna end him if he gets schooled in the actual fight. He will be a laughing stock after putting out a new ******ed "Dirrell is having nightmares...he isnt ready" statement every day. That said, go Froch.
