Joppy was a good fighter who didn't duck nobody and had good skills but he was never elite.

Going to Japan to win the title with Takehara was impressive.The trilogy with Julio Cesar Green is also to remember.

But he took beatings from Trinidad,Hopkins,Taylor and Bute.Can't givve him credit for stopping Duran since that as a ghsot in there.,

He was nowhere near his prime against Bute. Or Taylor. It was evident. Trinidad took away much of him.

He might have been past it against Hopkins too altough just slightly.Before the fight I thought he'd give Bernard a run for his money.

Interestingly he is well known in Japan since he fought there a few times.

I forgot he even has a win over Eastman altough it was very close.

Joppy was actually ruined by Hopkins. He took the worst beating of his career in that fight. Tito took him out of his misery quick. Hopkins gave him a prolonged sadistic beating, and his face looked like a demons after the fight.
