No. that said haye is still and idiot. i used to like him, put on great fights and was willing to fight anyone. but all this talk without acctually getting in the ring leads me to think hes no better for the sport than the rest of the ****ty HW division.

When evaluating a business deal you have to consider what other options each party has. What were Haye's options, given that he had no alphabet ranking or mandatory status and a TV contract with a bankrupt station?
1. Accept whatever Klits offered. Recall that to fight a MANDATORY against Tony Thompson Wlad made more the $10mil while Thompson made only $1mil. No one else in boxing commands the kind of split Klits do, because they have German, Polish, Russian, etc. TV money on top of large gates in Germany and normal contributions from HBO or ESPN (who are never in the position of lead broadcaster and so can't negotiate the terms either).
2. Fight a Brit HW on SKY or ITV, such as Audley Harrison, Matt Skelton, or the Irish cab driver. But this would get him caught up with Warren, not to mention that he could lose any such fight.
3. Go after Valuev. This gets him tied up with Don King, makes any eventual fights with Klits all but impossible, and again is no guaranteed win. Also he will have to fight John Ruiz or Ruslan Chagaev if he wins.
4. Sign to fight an American like Arreola, Chambers, or Thompson. This is financially the best option, since it would bring HBO money. But Haye never wanted to risk himself against these fighters (he'd be a heavy underdog against Chambers or Thompson).
Given these circumstances, the Klits were making smart business as always.Comment

The TS "Burner" doesn't really know what was in the contract, he just hates all white boxers and wants to make an excuse for Haye chickening out.
Both Vitali and Arreola referred to Haye as a "vagina" yesterday at their press conference.
