Pavlik's Trainer: "Paul Williams, a Very Dangerous Fight"

I except williams to outbox and out-work pavlik. I think he'll get behind his jab and while circling away from his right hand. Easy!

well i think winky is a slick fighter... yes i know winky was in active for 2 yrs, yes i know all the stipulations of the fight... but lets be honest... given the situation... winky looked damn good, he looked quick and was letting his hands go, and it didnt seem to make a difference... now obviously there are better, more active, fresher slick fighters out there... but winky at least gave you a taste of a good slick fighter, and P will handled that completely fine.Something seemed wrong to me in that fight, and I believe he didn't train much other than trying to make weight. I mean Williams wasn't even throwing much and looked tired for once, but at the same time Quintana never was really that good, and even at 110% I don't see todays Williams beating slick fighters that give him angles, and are bigger than him. Matter of fact I think he would get hurt.Comment

Pavlik is in trouble, and he'll finally have to release his grasp on the middleweight title. No more fighting bums and old men.Comment

The unspoken truth is this. Pavlik is a wrecking ball. He will smash stationary objects until they eventually fall apart. Hopkins wasn't a building waiting to get smashed. He moved. Pwill has tremendous foot work which will give pavlik fits because he will have difficulties pushing him back with his power because pwill footwork will allow him to evade being cornered and circle around pavlik with 100 punches pewr round. By round 4 pavlik will be the one backing up because he will begin to fatigue. The problem with high punch output fighters is that they force you to try and keep up. Then you are taken out of your game. Williams 12 round ud or 10 round tko.Comment

It seems to me like Pavlik's trainer and their camp are a lot more humble leading up to this fight than George Peterson was yesterday. They said they are still confident of victory, but they didn't totally **** on the opposing corner either. Loew comes off as classy in this interview. I think this is a ****ing match up that could end up as a competitive fight with either guy taking it.Comment

It's a good thing that he did not divulge the game plan.Jack Loew, trainer of WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, says the October 3 title defense against Paul Williams is a very dangerous fight. This is Pavlik's third defense of the middleweight titles. The first two, against Gary Lockett and Marco Antonio Rubio, were easy. This defense will take Pavlik to the limit. [details]
